Al's Lounge — Restaurant in Florissant

Last night was a different and unacceptable experience. I’ve patronized the lounge maybe 2 other times. It’s not a frequent spot for myself or my affiliates. However I was helping a family member celebrate for the evening. I expect the establishment to be consistent with the individuals they allow in the lounge. As I’ve said, I have been there before. There is no reason you can allow my entire party in the lounge and I am turned away.

It was to the extent of disrespect, that security and the owner (never seen Al all the times we have been there) “claimed” to have seen my significant other in the establishment but not me. This is inaccurate and doesn’t make sense. It made her feel uncomfortable what was being said, and giving sexist vibes at the door for whatever reason from security and the owner.

It’s a hole in the wall that I will never attend again. Hopefully this review finds the owner, and he can rectify his behavior to returning patrons in the lounge...

This bar has potential but the setup is lackluster. The dance floor is dimly lit and centered awkwardly in the front of tables. The clientele is nice but do not mingle and venture out to get to know new people coming into the lounge. Everyone stays to themselves or in a group. No one hardly dances. Might have been better off as a bar. There's no party atmosphere, its really dark, and the dj does not play consistent music to vibe to. I might have came on a bad night but it didn't seem like it is any different any other day. The drinks were too strong or not strong enough, but the door man was nice so that was a plus...

This would be a nice place for mature adults to have cocktails, listen to music and socialize if not for the horrible stench of cigarette and cigar smoke permeating throughout the establishment. It seemed EVERYONE was smoking something in this place and it is too small with substandard ventilation systems. The drinks were strong and the employees were nice. I just couldn’t deal with the smoke burning my nose, eyes, and throat! Not everyone wants to be subjected to the forced inhalation of tobacco or other smoke. All establishments should be smoke free with an area for smokers outdoors and away...
