I used to LOVE Jakes. My last visit on 4/20, at the Flower Mound location sorely hurt their reputation. I was on my way to the hospital to deliver my baby. Had to be there at 8 pm. My husband & I stopped here for dinner, about 6:20, because it was close, and one of My fav places. 1- It took about 5 min to even be greeted / sat. 2- We were taken to the last booth, next to the kitchen. Again, a minimum of another 5 min, waiting to get a server / drink order taken. (Our server wound up being the same guy who sat us). 3- We ordered 2 iced teas, and an order of fried green beans. Finished the appetizer, & our drinks were empty before he ever came back to get our dinner order / check on refills. 4- There restaurant was not even full, so we were confused as to the wait / lack of server attention. 5- We ordered Chk tenders, and a hot rodeo, (the old hot cowboy) w/ tots. 6- QUITE LITERALLY, about 40 min AFTER we placed our dinner order, I stopped our waiter to ask him if he knew how much longer it would take to get our order, because I had to go to the hospital. By now, it's about 7:30. He came back and said "I asked the chef, and he said it would be another 20-25 min."... SERIOUSLY? This is AFTER we ordered 40+ min ago, a simple 2 entrées? We immediately told him we couldn't wait any longer, please just give us our check. We had been there over an hour now. He apologized, saying they were short staffed, and only had one chef. Told us we could go, they would take care of the check. (Not even close to being making things right.) I know for a fact there was at least 2 people behind the line I saw myself. There was a food runner / mgr. / maybe another server, I'm not sure. I'm in the restaurant business myself. I get times have changed. But there was ZERO EXCUSE for this experience. At not ANY point did the server, a manager, or anyone at all approach us, to let us know things were running behind, to expect an extra wait, etc. At least give your guests a heads up, you know? Again, there were people / other patrons there, but by no means was the place so packed, that it warranted an hour + wait for 2 entrées. Absolutely unacceptable. I have a hard time believing this is how Jake's mgmt would like their business...
Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment with the recent experience I had at your establishment. As a frequent visitor to sports bars, I was looking forward to an enjoyable evening cheering on my team, the Mavericks, in their final game. However, the events that transpired were quite disheartening.
Our group of nine was being served by a new server on her first day, which we completely understand and have no issue with. Unfortunately, the situation took a negative turn when the manager made an "executive decision" to cut off our table after only a beer or two each, despite most of us having ordered meals. This decision seemed to be solely based on the fact that we were vocally supporting our team.
As a sports bar, it is expected that patrons would cheer and show enthusiasm for their teams. Our behavior was entirely within the norms of what one would expect in such an environment. Moreover, we were the only patrons dining at the time, which made the decision even more perplexing and unwarranted.
This experience significantly dampened our evening and has left a lasting negative impression. I believe that a sports bar should foster an atmosphere where fans can enjoy the game and support their teams without facing undue restrictions.

Read moreWe've been visiting this place pretty regularly for a long time and while it has become pretty hit or miss, it's been all miss recently. The service is incredibly poor and while the food is pretty good and consistent, it's difficult to get it through the awful service. Went a few weeks ago and ordered a customization to the kid's meal and plain buns for the adults. All three meals came out incorrect and rather than replace or try to make it right, the manager came over and argued with us that we could not have ordered our meals the way our server took it from us. Incredibly frustrating to have to compromise with a hard headed customer service professional, but whatever good help is hard to get everywhere so we let it go. Went again this evening on a Saturday night and the place was over half empty at 6:45. We were sat right away and promptly ignored. Three tables were sat after us and served their drinks without anyone coming to us for quite some time; the server even apologized to the table next to us for the delay. Multiple looks from servers, were told multiple times someone would be right with us.
