Poor service. The hostess didn't ask me if "this would be ok", when she seated us, she simply said "You're welcome", which seemed really insincere, because if I was really welcome, then she would wait until I said "thank you." You don't just say "You're welcome" as if you have given me something special. That's the wrong attitude to have in the service industry. All she did was lead me to a table, which takes no skill or talent, and her bad attitude immediately made for a lackluster experience. The waitress was also terrible. She didn't remember the sides, and I felt she had an attitude when I asked her what they were she pointed out the section on the menu. She also didn't bring me a water, and never came to refill my drink. I also wanted to order an appetizer, but I was distracted by the waitress's poor attitude. I wanted another beer, but the waitress never invited me to have one. Then the waitress just asked me if I am ready for the check instead of asking me if I want anything else. Overall, the experience did not make me feel like a valued customer, nor that they were very knowledgeable or capable of being able to provide good service. I felt that the staff were unskilled, not genuinely happy to serve me, and that my business is not welcome. It's unfortunate that they allow poor waitstaff to ruin the...
Read moreI post a comment about a place maybe once every other year- This place has me coming out of my hibernation. Not only would I recommend it, if I have family or friends come in to town, BBQ and Tex-Mex are expected, and this is, 100%, where I would bring them. Ive lived in Dallas for almost 20 years now, and this is the first Tex-Mex place I hold on a pedastal. ("Tex-Mex" may be offensive to the menu, as it isnt as generic as most restaurants like it). If you juat go fajitas, you are gonna love the attention to detail. If you like to go into a places more unique menu items, their fish entrees are unbelievably well prepared- I am slow at pulling the trigger on trying new things at a restaurant. This place, I really dont hold back. FINALLY- I get to travel a ton, and I have made it a point over the last 2 yrs to get 1 frozen margherita EVERYWHERE I go (kinda like Barstool Sports does Pizza). This place has my #1 ranking after dozens of examples so far, from design of the glass, the density of the ice, and the unique approach (they float a shot of tequila on top of the ice). Anyway, I had no idea Google was stalking me this hard, but this place was worth a stop over to rant and rave about before I go update my location settings. Oh, bring the dog...
Read moreMy husband and I and our 15 month old daughter went to Urbano for dinner on a Saturday evening for the first time.
We each got a three taco combo plate and shared the Lynne's queso, which was recommended by our server Lawrence. The queso was fantastic, and we enjoyed the regular chips and salsa as well. My favorites from the meal were the grilled shrimp taco and the street corn - I will definitely be back to order more of those. I was disappointed the brisket taco and the steak & chorizo taco were too spicy for me to finish, but my husband loved them. And we both enjoyed the fish tacos - he had grilled and I had beer-battered. I was pleased by the quality of the food since the price point at Urbano necessitates high-quality ($12-15 for a 3-taco plate w/ 2 sides).
The hostess was very friendly, and Lawrence provided us with flawless service throughout the meal. He checked on us the perfect amount and kept our drinks full. We were especially impressed with how quickly the food came out and we loved his recommendations.
They have blankets and firepits on their spacious patio for the winter, and it would be a great place to enjoy drinks and dinner outside in the spring and summer. Loved the vibe and decor at this restaurant....
