Wife and I were on our way further out to Lewisville when we remembered that a new Indian restaurant had opened in FloMo so we pulled a u-turn and decided to try out Cafe India. We were promptly greeted and seated in a friendly manner, and had a chance go look over the menu. Of course, joke's on them because our order was already predetermined on account of how basic we are, and because we're always under an iron-clad obligation to get the Standard Two the first time we try a place: Chicken Tikka Masala and Palak Paneer. Both dishes were perfectly executed and delicious. Because my wife is the Worst Mexican Everā„¢ļø, we did request mild on both dishes. After serving us, the staff did seem especially concerned about the spice level, asking us a couple times if it was acceptable, and I will say that while it was perfectly tolerable even for my wife, it was probably a skonch above "not spicy". Even so, it was delicious, and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The chicken in the CTM was perfectly tender and delicious, while the sauce was smooth and creamy without being grainy or oily as sometimes happens. And the Palak Paneer was equally creamy, with large cubes of the paneer, just the way I like it. Staff was friendly and attentive and the prices were reasonable. Naan is a separate order, but they provide plenty of rice with each dish. Having passed our initial test, we will certainly be back soon. A look at the menu indicates that they have some interesting non-standard items that I'm eager to branch out and try. They also seem to have a strong emphasis on vegetarian dishes, but also: goat! That excites me. Give Cafe India a try!

We were so excited to try Cafe India and, after reading reviews, decided to go. It did not disappoint! They offer a spacious dining area, bar with beers on draft, fun art and beautiful dishes and cutlery. Rice portions are generous and mains are just right. Tried the Goat Korma- it’s tender, falls off the bone and the curry is delectable. We also ordered the Mushroom Malai Curry- it’s a rich, creamy sauce with cashew cream and mushrooms- fantastic flavor and depth. For street food treats, we tried the chicken pagoda- so tender and love the cashews on it. Also tried the onion pagoda- fried and crispy perfection. Samosas are lovely and the mint chutney drizzled over top was an otherworldly explosion of flavor for your tastebuds. Waitresses and hostess were friendly and also offered recommendations on dishes when asked. They clearly explained all ingredients in the street food displays. Very helpful. They were attentive and refilled drinks and checked on us as needed. Recommendations - loved the ambience overall but didn’t like the American pop music- like it cheapened the experience a bit. Some traditional Indian music would be lovely. Just a personal preference. Could you put some beautiful exotic landscape scenes on the TVs? They were playing the pop music and Karaoke channels on YouTube. This place deserves something a bit more elevated.

It was great to see all high starred reviews. It is always lovely to see a new restaurant in your area trying to build clientele, we had been there and unfortunately the experience wasn't the best. Hopefully this is one of bad day for them. The chilly chicken we ordered was rightly spiced and good portion. The mutton biriyani had flavor but was too cinnamony that it spoiled the other flavors. The tangdi and the tandoori kebabs had the same flavor, good that there is no food coloring used. Garlic naan was ok. Wish the place good luck. A 'will try again' place.

I had a truly disappointing dining experience at this restaurant during my lunch visit today. I went with my son and ordered Garlic Naan, butter chicken ( While they offered complimentary rice, it was poorly cooked with several hard, under-boiled grains ) and goat dum biryani.

I specifically asked for the garlic naan and butter chicken to be served first, as I wanted my son to eat those before the biryani. Despite this, the waiter brought everything at once. When I reminded her of my request, she replied that both dishes were already ready. Unfortunately, the garlic naan was neither hot nor soft—it was overly crispy and tasted stale.

Adding to the frustration, I requested plain water but was served cold water instead. The restaurant was not busy, with just two tables occupied, and yet the service was careless. With two waiters, a supervisor, and a manager, I expected more attention to detail, but that wasn’t the case.

The food itself was equally disappointing. The goat biryani lacked the authentic dum biryani flavor, and the butter chicken was subpar. Overall, I left very dissatisfied with both the service and the food. It was, without a doubt, one of the worst customer...
