The manager, Luke, was super attentive and very personable and professional. He apologized for being short staffed and right away said we’ll have a free dessert because of our wait. Being short staffed is a problem everywhere right now, so we weren’t concerned on the wait, so his gesture was a manager doing a good job to keep customers returning. We eat on the patio and with cooling fans, it really wasn’t that bad on a 85° night. The chips and salsa were great! We ordered on the appetizer menu and it was delicious. We love restaurants with water in the area, so we’ll definitely be returning! We’ll also return because we know Luke is trying really hard to turn the place around! He’s off to a great start so far. I’ve decided the poor ratings on here are because people tend to focus on the negative more than the positive. Was your experience really a 1-star rating? Come on!

Primo’s is one of the much anticipated restaurants on Flower Mound’s Riverwalk. The restaurant is gorgeous - lovely tile work and decor. Very nice ambiance! There is a nice selection of drinks, and the bar was a festive, lively atmosphere. The food was good. I enjoyed my veggie fajitas. They were very tasty and a nice portion size. My husband was a little disappointed that his chicken soft tacos included shredded chicken instead of grilled chicken..but he will remember for next time. The service could have been a little better. We were greeted with smiles from everyone, but they seemed to be short-staffed. It appeared that they only had two servers working on a Friday night, so we did experience a few delays. However, there were two auxiliary staff members who were very eager to help when we needed something.

I’ll start off by saying they’ve only been open two weeks so I attribute some of the below to inexperience and getting used to the swing of things. When we walked in, the two hostesses asked for my name and phone number, to seat me at one of the many open tables….odd since there was no “wait” but I obliged. They took us to a table and walked away. We then sat for about 10 minutes until someone dropped water and then chips off at the table (no salsa). It had to have been 15-20 minutes after being seated that a waitress walked by and asked if we had been helped. She said the hostess put us at the “to-go” table and we shouldn’t have been seated there. She was nice though and got our orders taken. A little after that a server brought queso over, we said we didn’t order it and he just turned and walked away without saying anything. He came back a few minutes later saying it was from the kitchen. The queso was by far the only positive of the night and was very tasty. After ordering, some drinks came, others didn’t. When the food came, the tacos I ordered literally only had one very small chunk of chicken. Definitely not worth the $18. The taco salad ordered in my party had a bunch of listed ingredients missing as well. The manager was notified and she was very kind and offered to remake the food, but it was getting later and we didn’t want to have an additional wait. Lesson learned as well about mezcal….it smells like chemicals and tastes horrible (purely a personal opinion there) and I will not recommend their speciality margarita with mezcal. Overall, the staff is friendly but still in the crawling phase of learning the ropes. The food was just “alright”, but definitely not worth the listed menu price. I’ll be willing to give anything a second chance, including Primo’s, but will give them at least 6 months to figure out their operations first.

I will qualify this review by stating that I was a Food and Beverage Manager of a prominent Intercontinental Hotel. My wife and I live in the River Walk area and waited forever for these restaurants to open, and wanted so badly for them to be good. We are sorely disappointed. The service is terrible and the servers are incredibly poorly trained, this is a managerial issue. *Dirty bar, food bits and drink residue *Utensils and glasses left on bar for too long after customers left (patrons didnt sit at dirty seat (wasted opportunity) *tacos for me and wife served on one plate, no side plates til we asked *soup served, no spoon, had to ask *asked for no cilantro on tacos, served with pico on top with cilantro and then told it comes with it in it...do I still want it or to remake...silly question *Ordered 4 extra tacos with flour tortillas, only came out with 3, then delivered 4th with corn tortilla. *why is dishwasher in front bar, all servers bringing dirty glasses up for washing, collection of dirty glasses on bar, very noisy. *no beer on tap? Only cans? *Servers seemed to not know what they were doing, and too much fraternizing. *Menus had guac and crumbs inside and out. Dirty. Both of them. *server served wife's soup to us at the bar by walking inside bar and leaving it on bar mat, nearly out of reach of wife. Why not walk up to her and serve her on her side to right in front of her. *Two front hosts chatting and having fun, taking selfies, not professional. *table behind host stand had dirty rags and cleaning spray whole time we were there as a resting place. *phone chargers (assuming from hostess and host) left plugged in at front entrance. *server of bar top had to ask bartender when happy hour ended (how do you not know?!) *Nakpins and straw wrappers on floor all around the bar, why are servers and managers not tidying up?

We’ll, it’s the 1st week but thought we should give it a try. It’s been about 15 years or so since we had the Dallas location on McKinney. Call ahead was nice. Service was slow but we were patient. Rita’s ok bit the swirl was a no! Definitely spend the money for the top shelf but it’s over filled with ice. Food was slow and cold but we’re still patient. Bill comes. I see an extra drink that was not me. I asked to adjust. I was told by the manager it was already ran just to remind them they owed us a drink. I said no please adjust it. Then 10-15 minutes later, I get a card tossed at me and the manager says I gave you more than the beer on this card, that should be good, $7 more...as she walks away. So, keep going to all the other great Mexican places around. I get new places need time, but this was bad!

It’s pretty new. Great ambiance. Seems like the staff were all getting into the routine. Friendly and attentive. The servings are pretty hefty. Although the guac had a little bit too much cilantro. It over powered it. Clean. Love the individual washrooms. But I could see that being an issue when it gets super busy.
