Read moreThis place is friendly, tasty, and has a really neat atmosphere. I went for the first time last night with my husband. They had outdoor heaters to make the wait more enjoyable. There was space to wait inside, but there were already people waiting there (a good sign). We were seated and we're delighted to see our favorite waiter there! Joaquin worked at a restaurant we had been many times and let me tell you, this man is waiter perfection. He knows when to check on you and when to leave you alone. He's charming. He knows how to make great suggestions, and not just the most expensive stuff on the menu either. We got "the bread"appetizer and it was really good. Homemade bread and gooey cheese. Our food came out and it was incredible. I had lamb chops in a rosemary demiglace with asparagus and mashed potatoes. I am usually not impressed by mashed potatoes because I feel like mine are always better. No. These were really great. The demiglace acted as kind of a gravy fit the chops and potatoes and it was out of this world. I ordered the chops rare and got one rate with the perfect crust on the outside and one medium rare with a bit too much char. It tasted kind of burnt, but the reason I'm giving 5 stars here is because of management. I want going to complain about the second chop because when the first manager, Cameo, came by, I'd only tasted the first one and she was just so nice and had already asked how everything was. At that point it had been perfect. The second chop was still good, it just want 24 dollars good, but the service and the rest of the food made it so tough to complain. Then we left, well we were leaving and as we were heading out the door a manager, Oscar, approached us and didn't just ask how everything was, he asked what could have been better. I reluctantly told him about my lamb chop and let me tell you, this man cared. He apologized and gave me a gift card for the trouble. He had us wait with Cameo while he got it and we had a pleasant chat with her and Oscar when he returned. How can I not come back. The food was incredible but the service? The service...
Read moreThe food was mediocre. Upon entering the restaurant was not asked where we would like to be seated so we were seated in the bar area. It was extremely loud, we would have preferred the other dining area with a much better atmosphere. My husband ordered the salmon and I ordered the special of steak and shrimp skewers. Both higher priced items on their menu. My husband's salmon was average and my steak and shrimp was less than average. I received 2 shrimp and a slice of strip steak. The shrimp were fine but 2 really for $29.99? The steak was burnt and I mean charred on the outside which spoiled the rare flavor on the outside. The steak was also tough and grisly. Again not worth $29.99. The asparagus on both dishes was over cooked. We finished dinner and our plates remained In front of us for several minutes until a wait person came by with a pitcher in one hand and asked if we were done, this was not our wait person. She proceeded to stack my husband's plate on top of mine and lift them with one hand precariously in front of me. Again not at all okay. I thought both plates were going to topple into my lap. The manager at one point hurried by to check on tables but literally when I shrugged my shoulders he made no attempt to ask what the problem was with our experience and hurried to the next table. On our way out he asked again and I told him not such a great experience and steak was tough. He said we'll let me check it out, this was a bit too late in my opinion. Not a great meal or service. Too bad for Flower Mound as we thought maybe we found a gem but we were sadly disappointed. We will not return - too much wrong with this...
