Coffee Republic — Restaurant in Folsom

Two of us ordered side by side today about 1:00. The place didn't seem very busy. Took a seat and began the waiting journey. And a journey it was. Moses had it easy. The flies! So many flies. Buzzing to and fro. Ugh. About 15 minutes after we order one order arrives, without silverware. The waitress said she would be right back. Liar. I watched her head to the tip jar and register and start counting out money and such. So we're sitting there looking at one plate of food and no method to eat as employees wonder by this whole time.

Figure the silverware would come with the second order, so didn't say anything, figuring it would only be a moment. Well, after about 10 minutes we got tired of waiting and went and asked where the second dish was. And asked for silverware. The cashier apologized. Another few minutes later she found the missing dish and brought it to us.

So from ordering to eating, about 30 minutes. With the flies and a toddler running around the whole time it seemed like an hour.

Coffee Republic is an incredible spot for breakfast, lunch or a quick bite! My mom and I stopped in here each time we went to De La Rosa’s Bridal across the street for various wedding dress fittings! The spot quickly became a ritual when we found out how good the food was! When we walked in we were always greeted by Maddie, an absolute ray of sunshine! Maddie is not only a wealth of knowledge about the food and drinks on the menu, but she even came up with a few of the items herself! She is an incredible conversationalist and just makes you feel right at home when you come in! Maddie has great recommendations and warm hospitality, her customer service makes you feel like you’re stopping at a close friends house! The food and drinks are just amazing! I love the chicken poblano soup, the grilled cheese, and the baked goods they have! I am also a huge fan of their lemonades and tea! Stop on in and give it a try! Went in today around 4:30. I don’t know who the lady was making drinks but she had no customer service skills. We have gone here for 2 years and never had an issue. The coffee is great here usually. Today it was not good at all, the espresso was burnt tasting and she added way too much syrup on a drink I always get. She only gave us 75% of our drink and when she called us up to grab them she just glared at us. My drink didn’t even have the cold foam on it. I went back up to ask her for it and she was offended I asked. I told her it came with the drink on the menu and she snapped back at me with if I want it than I need to ask next time. She was an older woman with dark hair and sunflower earrings. Definitely won’t be going back if she is there.
