Update 3.1.23 - We once again were lucky enough to experience the Sutter Street Steakhouse with our friends. It was just as good or better than our first experience. We arrived for dinner with our friends at 6pm. We had reservations and were promptly seated. The restaurant was a bit noisy that evening, but not overwhelming. We ordered the same appetizers as before, the Calamari and Warm Brie and Bacon Jam. And these were just as good as our first visit. I ordered a bottle of Justin Cabernet that my wife and I shared. We were also served warm bread when our appetizers arrived. My wife and I both ordered the Ribeye. Just fantastic. Cooked to perfection and melt-in-your-mouth. That's the way steak is supposed to be done. Our steaks each came with mashed potatoes, however, there are substitutes on the menu if so desired. Also included was a clove of roasted garlic. Yum! For dessert, my wife and I shared the Crème Brulée and she also ordered the Chocolate Tini. She said it wasn't super strong (with alcohol) but was very tasty. Again, another wonderful experience. Our server was wonderful as usual. Can't wait to visit again. Enjoyed dinner with friends at Sutter Street Steakhouse in Folsom. Wonderful dining experience. We shared two appetizers with our group, the Warm Brie and Bacon Jam and the Calamari. The Calamari was great, but the Warm Brie and Bacon Jam was amazing; it arrived with toasted sour dough bread which we used to spread the Warm Brie and Bacon Jam. Really a delectable appetizer. For drinks, I enjoyed the special Wine Flight, which was a trio of Migration Pinot, Decoy Zinfandel, and Green Wing Cabernet. The Green Wing was my favorite of the three. My wife enjoyed a glass of House Cabernet. My main course was the Surf 'n Turf which included a 6oz medium-rare petite filet, grilled prawns, and garlic mashed potatoes. Included was a soy wasabi sauce for dipping. My wife chose the twin tail Maine Lobster dish which came with grilled asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes and butter for dipping. Service was prompt and courteous and not intrusive. Our server was Laura. All in all, a wonderful evening out with friends, great food, and lovely atmosphere.

Fantastic steakhouse. Made reservations online last minute, they only had late times available. We showed up early and we were seated immediately. The staff was extremely friendly. The atmosphere is perfect, low lighting, beautiful Christmas decor and a clean environment. The calamari was fresh, served perfectly, decent size serving and full of flavor. Clam Chowder soup was bursting with flavor. It was not very thick but not extremely thin. Would definitely order again. Caesar salad had a great flavor and was very fresh. The server was great and asked if we wanted the fresh anchovy on it that normally comes on it. The sourdough bread was delicious. Served warm and sliced. Stuck the butter between the slices to soften it up. I could eat the bread plain and as a meal. The steak came with a wasabi sauce which was not very wasabi at all. It had amazing flavor and went perfectly with the steak. The lobster was cooked to perfection and the drawn Butter was perfect. The long island was one of the best I've ever had. It was strong but the alcohol was mellowed out by the sweet and sour for a perfect drink. The Yule Mule was delicious per the wife. So good a second was a must. The fresh pomegranate and fresh mint leaves were perfect. The powdered sugar was the perfect holiday snow for the drink. The wife enjoyed the birthday dessert, the child's meal came with a perfect ice cream scoop. The pumpkin Gelato tasted just like pumpkin pie. Our waitress was amazing and great on the recommendations. She loved giving our son attention. We have been in search of a great steakhouse since our regular restaurant was ruined by covid and the company's new direction. Cattleman's is garbage.

I wanted to like this place after all the positive reviews, but in my opinion it really wasn't worth the hype or the expense. I came in on a Friday 6/1/18. Here's a breakdown of my review. Pros: 1) I had a okay experience with the waitress. She was attentive and explained the menu. 2) restaurant was full with a 45 minute wait, but got a bar table quickly. 3) looks nice Cons: 1) parking: absolutely none to be found in the area. Had to literally hike to get to the place. I saw ppl in walkers and wheelchairs having to be dropped off in the street out front and family members having to come back and get them. 2) I ordered filet mignon with a very thin slice of pink aka medium well. When I got it, as you can see it was barely medium. Blood was all over the plate. Sent it back and it came back in the exact form only cold and they added mashed potatoes when I ordered the loaded baked potato. All I had to eat was potatoes and prosecco. The meat went into the garbage. They were not able to fix my order. 3) Expensive. I paid $47 for potatoes and prosecco. 4) incredibly loud atmosphere throughout the restaurant. Can barely hear the person you are talking to. 5) long wait for food prep. Waited an hour to get my food. Then another 20 minutes to get back the steak I ordered in the first place which hadn't had anything done to it. Bottom line: wanted to love it based on all the reviews. However, I basically paid for overpriced garbage and alcohol. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend to anyone else.

Been here many times and never had an issue before. Last night unfortunately was a completely different experience for us. If you make reservations do whatever you can to avoid being crammed against the wine room in the center. They are small 2 person tables where I was elbowed and chair slammed into me multiple times by the person behind me (because the tables are too close). Also there is nothing my wife and I enjoy more than staring a torn boxes on the floor of the wine room, really a great view for dinner. I’ve been more comfortable on an airplane or a bus.

The server we have seen in the past and not had an issue with. Last night he blatantly ignored us multiple times. We had empty drinks and no bread and he would look at us but do nothing about it.

When our food arrived our steaks were way under cooked (we asked for medium and got pretty much blue). Both of us placed our steaks on a bread plate in the center and ate our potatoes. Our waiter walked by our table multiple times once again ignoring us and not noticing we put $100+ worth of cooked meat on a plate and we weren’t touching it.

Eventually manger came by and asked if we needed anything and we showed him the steaks. He took them back to fix them but when they returned the outer crust of the steaks was crunchy and burnt on the outside and overcooked on the inside. We lied and told the manager it was fine because we thought it would speed up the process to getting out of there.

The waiter brought us some desert we didn’t want or ask for to “make up for the steaks”. We didn’t eat it and I requested the check. I understand it gets busy in there but we were clearly ignored multiple times when we had concerns or issues with our food and we’re not provided the same level of service we saw others getting. We were customers like everyone else in there but we watched as our server provided more attention to other tables. Or maybe it’s the seating are the people lesser than others by sitting packed around the wine room?

We paid $163.00 for our food. I hate to bash this place but yesterday was a complete 180 from...

Sorry folks, but had to bring a bit of honesty to this restaurant. I hope my words are used to help the restaurant and their staff, because I'd really like to see non-chain establishments succeed.

Let's start with the bad (horrible), then move to the good.

SERVICE: 1 Star. Literally the worst service I've had in all my dining experiences. We were a party of 4. Put our name in around 5:45pm and then went down the street to have a drink while we waited - quoted a 2+ hour wait time. At around 7pm I gave a call and was told "your table will be ready in 10 minutes! You're the next on the list!" So we hurried and finished our drinks and walked on to the steakhouse where we waited...and waited...and waited. It was unreal! 57 minutes later we were seated. I could have had another glass of wine in a nice atmosphere instead of waiting in the entrance of this teeny restaurant! (The bar was packed or we would have shoved ourselves in there).

Once seated, our waitress (younger skinny blonde gal) was rude and unskilled at best. Took our orders (wine, some bread and water to start) and we waited...and waited...and watched as the two tables (sat after us but 7 minutes) next to us were promptly served while we waited...and waited (see a theme?!) Anyway, finally realized that the service was not going to be the highlight of the evening.

The FOOD: 5 Stars. Amazing! So pleasantly surprised, we will definitely be going back. We each started with a salad which were very large sized and flavorful. Entrees were: filet, halibut, swordfish (special of the night) and the prime rib, along with a few side dishes. Each were fantastic! The fish were cooked perfectly and not fishy at all (trust me, I'm from Seattle and have eaten my weight in fish over the years). I believe the men when they said the steaks were on par with Flemings and Ruths Chris.

Bottom Line: 3 Stars because the services was the worst in the industry. I hope they fix this because the food was delightful! Will return for the food and cross fingers that service...
