I was super disappointed at my second visit to this place. the server with glasses we had wasn't very personable and really acted like she didn't wanna be there. there was no friendly greeting at the door she literally just looked at me and "hi" all wide eyed and she almost seemed annoyed.
after being seated and looking for a drink menu(alcoholic) I noticed they didnt have one. so I didnt get a drink. lost sale right there.
after we ordered we noticed another server seat people and then tell her tables the specials for the night. half off pizza and some beef entree I believe, would have been nice to know that before ordering cause we probably would have gotten a pizza for the table.
our Italian nachos had a pool of orange grease on the bottom of the plate
My bf ordered chicken parm, the sauce to noodles ratio was way off. she took it back and had them add more sauce.
I ordered the chicken vodka dish and it was a disaster. after my first bite I felt a crunch, I ignored it and took another one and same crunch happened.. I then realized that there was onions in the dish but they were completely raw. as well as the minced garlic in the dish was completely raw as well. I put some raw pieces on the side of my plate and I asked her if the garlic and onions were suppose to be cooked and she said they were. she said sorry, offered to make a new one I opted for plain spaghetti because who can mess that up?
at the end we had a young girl come to the table and offer to box up some plates for us. we had 4 leftover plates and she took two, boxed them, brought them back and left... leaving the other two sitting on the table? we flagged her down and asked her to finish boxing so we could leave.
with 2 mess up dishes I was surprised there was no manager coming to apologize or even a discount on the bill for our experience and the fact that 2 of us were left waiting to eat while they fixed their mistakes.
we left her 20%
we also left knowing we would never...
Read moreStarting from the beginning. My family and myself walked in ready to enjoy some Italian cuisine and right away were greeted with awful, beyond awful service. The hostess, Kenzie greeted us with a sour face and a less than enthusiastic attitude. Walking back to our table we quickly noticed that the place was half full at best and they seemed to be short staffed. When asking if we could have a booth instead of a table Kenzie once again made a sour face and led us to a booth with angst. When stating our appetizer plate was dirty she scoffed, grabbed it, and when replaced threw it on the table. Beyond unprofessional and rude. However, as the night progressed I saw her seat another family with a young teenage son with a little more pep in her step. It was quite amusing to witness that a young teen boy who seemed less than interested could turn the ugliest of attitudes into a pleasant one.
We waited 16 minutes before our drink order was taken and at that point we just decided to order everything at once. The food was okay and we probably would’ve enjoyed it more if not for Kenzie’s ugly attitude. I’m sorry no wonder the sign said now hiring “hostess” along with other positions on the doorway. We will not be back and it’s a shame that yet another place is going down hill due to...
Read moreMy pizza was ready for pickup exactly at the promised time. I only had 2 wait a minute or 2 while the bartender assisted another customer- despite a relatively full restaurant for a weeknight. Everyone I spoke with (by phone or at pickup) was extremely nice and professional. There were a few sporadic parking spots available in the parking lot despite the dinner rush and proximity to another popular restaurant. The pizza itself wasn't what I expected. I've eaten at several different Chicago style restaurants both in the Windy City and elsewhere. I was expecting more of a buttery crust. The Gino's crust was good, but not unlike a regular pizza crust. I ordered the Gino's special Chicago style pizza (sausage, green peppers, and mushrooms). The "toppings" were a little sparser than expected, but there was a tremendous amount of mozzarella cheese. In the land of cheese, the generosity with the good stuff has to be appreciated. I will definitely try Gino's again, but I think I'll have the thin...
