Let's see....where do I begin??? First of all, my hubby & I went to eat here last night. My husband was already extremely tired from surveying on the coast all week long & all we wanted when he finally got back home was a nice meal & kind service people. Nope, got neither. We came into this particular restaurant in Forest City, NC to a huge puddle of water. Grant it they had warning signs out, but it was so bad that it should have been mopped up periodically. If nothing else because of a risk hazard for customers. It was not busy at all when we got there & there was three tables already occupied with no one at the register & maybe two people in the drive-thru. It took a little time for anyone to acknowledge we were even at the register even though they made eye contact with us several times & some of the employees were just basically doing nothing. Finally someone came & took our order. No greeting & no smile. And I'm sorry if you don't like your job, but please don't take it out on us. Quit if you don't like it. We realized the air conditioning wasn't working because it was so warm in the restaurant, but I asked the employee if it wasn't working & he said I don't know. Really? It's just a no or yes question. How hard is that? I figured if it was working I was going to ask if he could turn it down a little bit so it would be cooler in the eating area. So we proceed to get our fountain drinks & realized why there was a huge puddle which was right in front of the entire drink station. Water was flooding out of the pop machine. After that we tried to find a table that was clean enough to sit at & every table was messy. Again, they were not busy at all & they had plenty of employees on duty & some who were just standing around doing nothing & you simply can't get out there & clean the tables off. We finally got our food & of course there's stuff missing. My hubby had to get my dressing for my Cobb salad & the fried pickles, he had to get his coleslaw & the fried onions was missing on my salad. There was no greeting to us when we entered the restaurant & no thank you when we left. It was ridiculous overpriced for two people. Basically $40 for a fast food restaurant. Yeah, we're not coming...
Read moreI usually do not write negative reviews; however, with the lack of service I received on November 25, 2023, and the utter lack of care from the staff, I feel it is warranted. I ordered a boneless wings & things meal, the family dinner which consisted of 21 chicken tenders, and an 8-Ct boneless wings meal. I had my girlfriend pick this order up for me to take home. She was unaware of what, besides her meal, to expect to be picking up. So, upon getting the order, she explicitly, unequivocally asked the employee “Is this everything?” to which the employee responded in the affirmative. Upon arriving home, we learned that the 21 tenders were missing and the boneless wings meal. Keep in mind that this is no easy thing to miss.
Furthermore, the store did not appear to be particularly busy at all. In any case, I called the store and informed them of the situation. The lady who answered the store exemplified unprofessionalism — pure, abject inconsideration. To be specific, she said “You’re telling me we missed 21 tenders” as if to challenge the truthfulness of what I was telling her. She asked a couple of more times as if she was in disbelief. In neither case (neither via the phone nor when I picked up) was there an apology for the inconvenience, offer of refund or anything. Just that I could waste some additional time paying for their lack of care.
I want so much to like this place but the staff is getting worse it seems and the amount of care is decreasing. I get it, things happen and some things slip under the radar and people make mistakes. It’s an inevitability. I just do not sympathize with those who show no remorse or make sincere efforts to right an initial wrong. It’s not a matter of doing it for some corporation or franchise agreement that tells you that you have to; it’s a matter of doing your job with care so that you don’t make it unnecessarily hard on...
Read moreMan, I try so hard to like this place. I like the cheap kids meals on Wednesdays. The food has generally been good. But every time, it seems there is something. First, there is a frequent cleanliness problem--the tables don't seem to ever be wiped down by anyone, the drink station is the same, and the floors are constantly sticky and cluttered.
Just a few minutes ago, we took our semi-typical trip, and there were problems with the ordering. My wife ordered a Chicken Finger Sandwich Meal and was presented with a Chicken Salad Sandwich. When alerted to the problem, the staff made her a proper sandwich and brought it to her, which was nice, but the apology was quick and the employee all but ran away, which left a little to be desired.
I ordered a Caribbean Jerk Sandwich Meal and was looking forward to it, as I like banana peppers. However, I received a plain chicken sandwich with only mayo, lettuce, and tomato. At this point, as I was hungry and the sandwich tasted good, I went ahead and ate it. But when we were leaving, my wife alerted the staff about it, and got a quick laugh and "OK, I'll tell them."
Like I said, I try hard to like our local Zaxby's (I've generally not had these problems at other locations), and I'm giving it 3 stars because I almost always like the food. But there are some things to work on for sure. Y'all have a...
