I came in this afternoon after work and ordered the spicy tuna roll and shrimp tempura for myself and a to go order of chicken katsu for my son. The shrimp had an ammonia taste and smell. I informed my server, who acted appropriately and apologized and asked if I wanted anything else in lieu of the shrimp tempura. I asked for the seaweed salad..the manager/owner, I assume came to my table and asked me what was wrong, I told him that the shrimp tasted and smelled of ammonia. He told me he tried it himself and couldn’t taste anything nor smell anything and went on about how fresh his seafood was and how no one in the $700 of sales today complained. 1) I never accused him of serving spoiled seafood. This was a legitimate complaint meant to inform and protect any other consumers of potentially consuming bad SHRIMP. 2) I rarely complain. He did refund me for the shrimp. I never got my seaweed salad and when I paid my bill with him he had the audacity to ask me if “ I felt better now” What??? The principle is to protect people. It’s not about my bill or his pride. I think it is ignorant for a manager/business owner to discredit their customers. I had direct eye contact with him throughout the conversation and he rarely looked at me and went on and on about how fresh his food is. That may be the case but you need to hear your customers out when there is a problem. Instead of being insulted, it could save your customers from any...
Read moreWent here for the first time recently and we brought a friend with us who was visiting. Nothing ordered from the menu arrived as described on the menu. When the fourth dish came incorrect I decided not just smile and nod, but brought up the issue.
To be honest the food (of which was 100% not what was ordered) actually tasted decent (which is why i gave them 2 stars) but their answer to the problem with the incorrect items being served was that "the menu had changed but they did not update the menus to reflect what was actually being served." And apparently literally every menu item was now different than described. I asked to speak to a manager about this ridiculous answer and no manager was available. This was during dinner hours. They offered no discount or course of action to make the situation better and they seemed to play it off as though we were the problem rather than the falsely advertised menu.
The dining room was also not very clean. It's darkly lit, so you don't fully notice it until you are sitting there wondering where your food is and begin looking around.
Unfortunately with this bad of customer service I cannot recommend any locals or visitors to go here. There are much better, cleaner, customer focused options...
Read moreEvery experience I’ve had here has been so - horrible. The service can be really rude and I genuinely have so much patience and work food service, so I am very understanding except for when people are just flat out mean. I used to love it here, but I think there was a change in ownership? It doesn’t seem they can really hold staff and every time I’ve eaten here it’s been an hour + wait, forgotten appetizers and wrong entrees with no refills. I’ve also seen them carrying just boxes of instant Shin ramen in which is just so so crazy low quality for the prices they charge. I could pick up Shin ramen from the Plaid Pantry. There are so many better places to go, I don’t recommend eating here. The fish is always super sus and the miso tastes like sock water. the eel looks like black rubber. It’s just not a high quality place and there online/in store prices are insanely different. If you’re calling in an order, when you go to pick it up it actually costs like $20 more because they’ve never updated their online menu but changed their in store prices to almost double what they were. I didn’t mean to go in on this review so hard, but the bad experiences just kept coming back to my memory while...
