I used to eat here at least once a month.. for about 2 years. About 1 1/2 uears ago something changed and since then the quality of food has suffered.. My last 4 visits, I didnt even finish my meal,, something was just off about the food every time.. I used to recommend this place,, but lately,, I have been telling people to stay away.. They recently updated the menu,, and most everything I normally ordered is now $20 a plate.. And I seriously paid $4 for a basic Iced tea,, and wasn't even offered a refill.. Time to find a new go to Mexican food place.. I tried it again,, due to its convenient location,, How do you mess up Nachos,, but they did.. Never again

Apparently a late night staple for Pacific University students as it’s one of the very few places in town that’s opened late. Prices range from $3 tacos to $18-$20 dinner plates like the sizzling fajita with steak. But what I learned is the main attraction is their “jungle juice” that comes in this nice urn looking jug. I was told it used to come in a pitcher, but for $10, it’ll definitely get you going for whatever pregame party you’re headed to in town or for a frat house. Even if you just want to catch a buzz and walk around town. Great and friendly service and opened til 10p typically

Just bought an asada salad and two asada tacos from here ($20 meal). When I got home and opened it, what a joke. Not only is this just a pile of wet lettuce with the most minimal amount of asada, there was nothing else that actually makes this a taco salad. This place has 💯 lost any chance of us returning for any reason. Save yourself a nasty experience and go right down the street to La Estrella. Not only was it cheaper, it was an actual well put together salad (corn, guacamole, sour cream, etc). This place should feel embarrassed they served this, especially at the price.

I think a 4.5 review would be appropriate. But Google doesn't allow 1/2 stars. Oh well.

I will admit, I wasn’t expecting much. Was in town on a business trip and had six other people in tow. Problem is, this town pretty much shuts down at 9:00 . . . unless you want some overpriced McMenamins or low-priced gut bomb fast food. No thanks.

This restaurant was recommended as an option, as it was open until 10:00. So glad we took the advice. Quick seating even though they were somewhat busy. Friendly staff all around. Reasonably sized dishes at prices that make sense. The food is by no means ‘traditional’ Mexican. Then again, it wasn’t just the glop and slop that you will get at some places advertising themselves as Mexican. Warm chips and decent salsa with quick refills. Flavorful carne asada. Nicely portioned enchiladas and burritos. Average pico, but nice and chunky guacamole. Rice was a touch bland but not overcooked. And, again, the staff were great. They were constantly checking on us, topping off our drinks and making sure we were happy with our orders.

All in all, we all left happy and full. When we are in town again, I think this will be a regular stop. Thanks to the staff for a nice evening and a good meal. Very much appreciated. And I think some of the more recent negative reviews are likely a bit skewed given that prices have gone up. Thing is, they have everywhere. So, adjusting your expectations and being fair to a business trying to eke out a profit might lead you to show a touch more empathy. Remember: this is Forest Grove. You aren't in the big city and you shouldn't act like you are. Additionally, although they might cater to a college crowd, that doesn't mean that they should be selling you their food at a loss. Plenty of cheaper options where you will, trust me, also get what you paid for (and I mean that in a few...

Great place with affordable prices! Love the ice cream at the end! Staff is very friendly. Authentic!

UPDATE APRIL 24TH - I love this place and am in disbelief right now to my horrible experience I JUST had!!! I ordered food to go and when I got their the price was a little more then what I heard over the phone so I asked if I could not purchase a side of rice, when she went back to the cooks so they could take the rice back I heard the lady tell them, "She doesn't want the rice, she's stingy". I was just in a car accident, life flighted and out of work, I barely have a penny to my name but yet I still went to them as they WERE my favorite place. Incorrect cold tacos is what I ended up going home to, in the garbage they went as well as my good mood for the day. Extremely dissatisfied and...

Good little spot for some Mexican food. Service was great.. friendly and prompt. The food came out quickly and hot. I ordered the Beef fluatas off the lunch menu. Everything was very flavorful and well prepared and presented. As far as a lunch plate goes, There was plenty of food in my order. Price was fair for what I got. And again..service with a smile is always nice. My only complaint is the chips that they give you while you wait for food ..were a little.. ehh, nothing fancy warmed up chips. But the fresh salsa made them ok. Good food..decent price..fit the void in my belly nicely. And the scoop of coconut ice cream and warm cinnamon wedge drizzled with strawberry sauce and a dollop of sweet cream....very nice...
