Tacos La Estrella — Restaurant in Forest Grove

I use to like this place, but not anymore, but I am finally writing a review. I always call my order in ahead of time and go pick it up and after I order I always ask for how much my order is. I am told one price over the phone and then when I go in I am given another price. And it is usually about $4 more than what they tell me originally. They have messed up on my order a few times as well but they will not fix it or give me a refund. There is now signs that say no exchanges or refunds. Which if they mess up they should either exchange it for the correct item or give you a refund. I also like my tripa extra crispy Today it was not that way. I also asked for my onions and cilantro on the side of all my tacos. They put it on the top. Also when they say your food will be ready 9/10 time it will not be ready when they say. I always leave to pick it up when they say it will be ready and I usually still have to wait.

But my main complaint was the pricing issue telling me one thing and then when I go into pay telling me something different and then when I tell them that they told me one thing they start listing off all the things that I order. Well yes I know that I ordered that but that's not what you told me.

These are the best street tacos I’ve had in Oregon. They’re packed full of meat. The carnitas are so juicy and flavorful, sometimes they have really good little crispy bits on the ends too. Everything here is perfectly seasoned and affordable. the salsa bar always has pickled jalapeños and limes! i regularly come here and bring people from out of town here as well. the food never takes more than 20 minutes even when they’re busy. take out is easy and i haven’t had them forget anything the handful of times i’ve ordered out, but i normally choose and love to dine in. i’ve seen complaints about phone time in other reviews - a small local family runs this place and they do a good amount of volume, so just be patient. service always goes above and beyond the landline just doesn’t allow for more than one phone call at a time/they only have so...

My car broke down a few miles outside of Banks and I had it towed to a mechanic right around the corner from this place. Okay, car's broken, got about an hour to kill... yeah I deserve some food.

Enter Tacos La Estrella. I just finished what may have been the best carnitas burrito of my life. This seems to be a family operation and it's super authentic food. There's nothing fancy about the location just yet but it looks like they're remodeling and expanding into the unit next store. The dude who helped me at the counter was awesome and helpful, the food came out quickly, and everything that could be right about it was. Like, so good that I expect I'll come back by any time I'm in Forest Grove.
