First Wok — Restaurant in Forest Park

Warning - lol Long Honest Review:

I want to give this place 5 stars, however there were two things that are preventing that. We ordered four different dishes, two soups, two orders of crab rangoons, two egg rolls, and a Pepsi. Everything was delicious, except my husband’s sesame chicken. It was hard and chewy, and it tasted like it sat out or was old.

The other issue (which I admit is petty, but there were no green onions in the soup.) I thought egg drop always came with those, so that was a little disappointing, as it changed the whole taste.

Now on to the positive, the lady who greeted me was so polite and went above and beyond for me. Good customer service, unfortunately, is hard to come by, but she definitely exceeded my expectations. She was excellent!

Had my husband’s food not tasted hard, chewy, and like it had sat out for too long, they definitely would have gotten all 5 stars!!!

I’ll still return, I just know to have some cut up green onions at home ready to go, lol. As for my husband, I doubt it, but overall, everything...

I ordered from Door Dash this evening. Was in the mood for Chinese, but my regular place was already closed. Door Dash also showed First Wok. I went ahead and ordered. Then while waiting for my food, I looked up the reviews. After reading thru them, I thought, OMG what am I getting myself into! Food was delivered within 19 minutes... hot fresh... chicken chow mein, fried won-ton and won-ton soup. By this time I am nervous. I opened the bag, the soup was delicious, the fried won-ton was crisp and hot. Good so far... let's get down to the nitty gritty... it was wonderful! Tons of meat! Nice balance of meat and rice. Food was decent. I got General Tso's chicken. Only had two pieces of broccoli (fine by me since I don't like it) and the sauce was the sweetest I've ever had on generals chicken. It was thick like honey. Wasn't real flavorful either. But the rice was good. And the portions were huge and the price was low. So 5 stars for value. This is more of a carryout place. We ate there and it was awkward. There are only 3-4 tables available and half the dining area is used by the kitchen. The only table service we got was from a child who seemed to be about 8-9yrs old. Drinks are in cans. The table we sat at was sticky. The chairs were sticky. But overall it seemed clean enough in there. Not sure I'd go...
