IHOP — Restaurant in Maryland

I go to this location often but today was the worst service I've had here. We were seated about 2:15 pm. A young lady took our drink order and told us another person would be our server. About 2mins later our server came over we weren't ready. He came back 3mins later we ordered. That was around 2:20pm. I saw him go to 2 other tables before I stopped paying attention. Her it is 2:55pm and none of our food has come out so I ask the young lady to check on at least our kids meal. That took about 7 to 10mins to come out. We then waited another 15mins for our adult food to come out. Not once did our waiter come to check o us or give an up date, but I watched him tend to all the other tables he had. Other parties who had the same amount of ppl that came in after us had already ate and began to leave before we even recieved our food. Another waiter Arnold brought us our food and gave us refills while continuing to be attentive to his tables. Our waiter checked on us one time after we recieved our food and the next time we saw him he was bringing us a check but the manager had already brought us one. If I had cash Arnold would have gotten my tip. I will not disclose the horrible waiters name but I do know if I return I will never allow my family to be sat in...

I know this location in general is not the best. However, that should not constitute businesses should match it. Upon entering, the host is the first person you see and also sets the tone and atmosphere. The old Caucasian guy was the absolute worst in doing so. He had an attitude just seeing people enter as if he didn't want anyone to come in. If this be the case customer service is not for you. There's nothing worse than wanting to spend money at a business where you've been wanting to but the service does not permit you to spend your hard-earned money in. I too am in the same line of business and I find it very hard to believe that you can work in the restaurant industry and not want to send people out with a smile or a better day than what they entered. I also know that you will have people come in with negative energy in which those people will answer to their own karma. This was his (host) doing and he will get it back in return too. In the end if you don't have it to genuinely have patience over passion in this line please reconsider filling out applications for other departments. I'd give this restaurant a -1 star but I have to give one in order to...

Had to have a meal before giving blood and this was near. My expectations were low, given the pathetic experience I had at a brand new location (Bowie, MD) 3 years earlier. Before that? Decades.

Keeping in mind I am a restaurant manager. This location was rather bus-station-y with its small, cold lobby. I was seated (not greeted) immediately. My server Greg was also there immediately. He brought me an absolutely delicious milkshake. Soo good!

Used the restroom. Evidently there is no heat nor insulation in there. OMG that was cold on this 10° morning!

Back to the good stuff: My omelette came quickly and deliciously hot. The coolest thing was that I could get hasn't browns IN my omelette. I would have done it myself, but here they were!. Generous fillings, perfectly cooked and melty with cheese. Perfect, tender pancakes. Probably the best omelette (and milkshake) I can remember ever having.

If someone were to ask me about iHop, I would tell them not to waste their time with any other location. Thank you for such a pleasantly surprising...
