Whew, chile! It was the worst breakfast/brunch I've ever experienced. I only wish more people would give honest reviews😔.
I should've walked out when my food came in 5 minutes, and there were people all around me who were seated before I arrived and had already been served their drinks. I dine in because I have time to wait for my food to be cooked. Bacon and stuffed French toast takes about 10 to 12 minutes and eggs 3 to 5 minutes. I understand why grits need to be precooked.
Maybe it was what i ordered, but the food was all old. I got the traditional breakfast with a substitute of stuffed cheesecake French toast (Nina's French Toast)that I didn't even get to taste because it was cold and even appeared to be sitting. I've only had fresh French toast, so the stale French toast they tried to serve me was unacceptable and were the main reason i went. They looked good, but i don't consume old food when i am expected to pay premium prices for fresh food. The bacon was super hard and cold and obviously sitting for a while. The grits were cold and pure water. I've had fresh French toast at IHOP every visit at any location.
Now, Grits' texture is highly subjective. However, we can all agree that Grits is porridge and NOT soup. The Grits were soup to the point it was obvious they used water to stretch it and served it.
I drove 45 minutes to try this place after watching a review that I'm weary was paid in cash and/or food to influence people's decision to try certain restaurants.
I spoke with the manager after eating the only fresh things on my plate, which were eggs that I requested to have cooked hard and I'm convinced its why they were semi-fresh and partially burned because they were likely precooked.
I switched the French toast for a single pumpkin pancake that tasted like flour and water only.
The manager responded to my disappointment by stating they cook the Grits in the morning only (I was there at 11 am). He also said they precooked the bacon and set it aside, then warmed it on the grill per order, which they did not even warm it for my order. He apologized about the French toast and walked away.
As I was going to pay for my food, I told him his apology meant nothing because it was simply bacon, eggs and Grits and a single pancake, and I only ate the eggs and a piece of bacon. He then offered to cover my tab, I refused because I didn't want him to feel as though the matter was acceptable. I'd much rather pay for my own food as I always do. He didn't allow me to pay for it, and considering I didn't eat hardly anything, it was the least.
I will eat at home...
Read moreAs soon as you walk in you are greeted by Nina and the staff. Merari was our server. Our food came out quickly and it was delicious. Glad we found a new spot close to home to grab a quick delicious bite. It is a small facility. There may also be a wait for the bathroom. We're willing to make the drive to Forney just to dine at Nina's again. I suggest you go online to get on the wait-list. 👍👍😋
05/24/2022-We went for breakfast this time. They were busy, so we had a bit of a wait. It seems this is a very popular spot. The food is delish and the portions are more than enough. I was impressed that our food came out pretty fast.

01/16/2023- They are always busy on the weekends, luckily we didn't have a long wait. We took my daughter out for a birthday breakfast and my son joined us as well. Breakfast is always yummy.
06/24/2023- Nina's never disappoints. We met my daughter for breakfast and we were there early, so no wait. 😁 I recommend you go online and get on the wait list. I had a banana and granola pancake, which is no longer on the menu, but they accommodated my request and avocado toast. Hubby ordered the Cowboy, mija had eggs Benedict, and her guest had the stuffed french toast. Everything was delicious 🤤I updated my review from 4 ✭ to 5 ✭ because the food and portions are always consistent. Great staff and family owned business. 👍👍

Read moreUpdated Review: After posting my original review, the owner personally reached out to me, took full accountability, and resolved the issue. He sincerely apologized, explained that he would gather his team to ensure this doesn’t happen again, and even pulled my ticket to investigate the situation in detail—despite it not being his direct fault. He then invited me back for a better experience, and this time, the service was excellent. Everyone made sure we felt welcomed and comfortable. He also assured me that the matter with the waiter who made us feel uncomfortable (and asked us to leave so she could seat someone else) had been addressed.
Special thanks to Star, who was such a kind soul and truly made the experience even better. And of course, as always, the food remains top tier.
The food here is always great, but unfortunately, I had a really uncomfortable customer service experience during my visit on Sunday morning.
From the start, our waiter seemed rushed and only briefly checked in, which we understood since it was busy. However, toward the end of our meal, we felt pressured to leave—even while we were still eating. We were asked if we wanted to-go boxes while still mid-meal, and one staff member even tried to take my friend’s plate before she was finished.
We were simply catching up after a long time and enjoying our food, as people do when dining out. It got to the point where we asked, “Do you need us to leave?” and were told, “Whenever you’re ready.” But about 20 minutes later, our waiter came back and said, “I’m so sorry, but people are waiting for a table. Do you guys mind?”
We were only there for about an hour and 15 minutes, but from the beginning, we felt rushed and unwelcome. I understand Sundays get busy, but there’s a more professional way to handle table turnover without making guests feel like a burden. This left a really sour taste after what should’ve been an...
