I wish I could give zero stars!!
Today 6/24/2023: My teen daughter and I decided to have some mommy daughter time. Movies and Chinese take out. I got on the website and attempted to order Hong Kong Express for delivery. Ordering online says you get a 10% discount. It wouldn't allow to me finish my payment, saying I lived out of the delivery miles. I thought, hmm, maybe they changed it seeing that I've ordered before. So I called the restaurant inquiring. The lady on the phone said she did not know about the website. Ordering over the phone was a $10 difference. Still attempting to give the company my business, I proceed with the order over the phone. After 30 minutes, the food arrives. We ordered over $50 worth of food. My daughter grabs plates and we start getting the items we wanted. My daughter screeches Yuuuck! She showed me the beef broccoli. There was a worm resembling a maggot or very small caterpillar. I immediately call the restaurant to inform them. The young lady on the phone was extremely short and uninterested. I asked to speak with the manager. While I'm on hold I decided to examine the other dishes. I'm so glad I did. In the chicken lo mein was cooked flies. The young lady at the restaurant, told me the manager had to SEE if they could refund my order. I got in my car drove to the restaurant. I showed them the bugs and gave them the food. The manager took the same spoon I used to pick up and show the bugs, to go through other patrons orders (checking for bugs in their orders). I asked for my money back and asked for the owners information. They called a lady named Lydia, whom I spoke with briefly. Lydia was the only person that offered an apology. Lydia asked could they refund me and make me another meal, to which I declined. She told the staff to refund me. I will definitely be contacting the health department and the BBB. Read moreI have gone to this establishment for years and it is has by far some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. The majority of the time I have pleasant encounters with employees and the individuals whom I believe own the establishment. However, one of their employees has me weighing whether or not great food is worth the nasty attitude she gives me and other Black customers. Any time I see this blonde, long-haired, middle-aged woman behind the counter ( I’ll refrain from any further descriptors to avoid being rude) I know I am in for an awful customer service experience. She has never greeted me or my mother when we approach the counter, even if we politely say hello first and I’ve seen her ignore other Black customers as well. Our first encounter, I walked to the counter and waited for her to get off the phone with a customer. When she hung up she still didn’t speak to me but fumbled around with papers, and walked back and forth to the kitchen , and even took another call before finally saying, “Well? Are you ready?” I answered back “Are you?” Just today, she looked me as I entered the restaurant, rolled her eyes and went back picking her fingernails. Another lady motioned me to come to her side of the counter so she could help me, she was very pleasant and professional. Another customer who did not share my ethnicity walked in a few minutes later, and the blonde woman smiled and said “Welcome in! How can I help you?” She makes very clear who she wants to wait on and who she thinks is subpar.
I hope the owners of this establishment continue to thrive, but this employee could potentially drive this great restaurant into the ground. Her lack of customer service skills and human decency may not qualify her to interact with the general public. That can’t be good...
Read morePlaced an order at 630pm and all they said was "we will get it to you as soon as possible". They've said that before and we had it within 20 minutes. I called at 740pm to check on it and was told the driver already left they couldn't tell me where he was or where he was stopping first on his deliveries. Its one thing to know what the wait time is and decide to wait for it but to place an order and still not have it almost 2 hours later without warning it would be that long is unacceptable in my mind. I called again at 820 to check on it as it had been 40 min since they told me he had already left. Forney is NOT that big. I was put on hold so they could call him and find out where he was and was placed on hold for 20 min to be told the driver had a flat and they didn't know but he's on his way with my original order I placed over 2 hours ago. Um no I don't want my now cold food you can eat that yourself. My husband went to the restaurant and when he got there 3 female employees were standing around doing NOTHING. He said if they knew the guy had a flat any of them could have jumped in their car to help out which is what I told her on the phone and he was told females are not allowed to make deliveries. I am 100% done with this place! It is now 845 and my husband is going to chick-fil-a where we will get prompt polite service . I only gave this a 1 star because you...
