Mix It Up Creamery — Restaurant in Forney

My husband and I went on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 7:45pm to get some ice cream. They had three workers currently working. One girl was cleaning by spraying and wiping everything down on the floor. One girl was in a rush and was taking waffle cones out of the bag and kept breaking a lot of them and or putting wrong ice cream into them and kept putting the used or broken waffles back into the bags. She at list did wear clean gloves. This young gentleman was wearing gloves and kept taking the ice cream from that girl and kept adding toppings and handing them to a customer before us and also served us. But he kept wiping the counters down the front and everywhere around the topping section containers and used his hands with his gloves on and was swooping it down on to the floor and kept handling the ice cream. It was very disgusting watching it. Then the girl who was putting the scoops had the freezer of the ice cream opened the entire time and during her making the ice cream together the other employee who was cleaning sprayed a solution on top of the freezer section going onto the ice cream the other employee was making and into the freezer section. Again very disgusting and disturbing. The employee who was putting the scoops made many mistakes, and kept using the same spoon from the ice cream scoop without dipping it into the water. My husband ended up with wrong flavors in his waffle cone where he had to ask them to give him a different cone because his was totally broken. Same thing happened to the customer before us. Ice cream looked badly handled and made. This was very disappointing visit and I hope the owner can give the employees training and make improvements. Let me start by saying, the service gets a 1 due to the owners lack of proper staffing and not the poor young lady who was working today. She said it typically isn't this busy and I understand what she was saying. However, the owners should have thought to themselves, today was the last day of school with an early release which means parents like myself we're taking a moment to celebrate with their kids and this place was just unprepared.

We walked in and there was only one family there, but right behind us came easily another 6 or 7 families. The girl working was doing her best. The ice cream, this is our second visit, I can't say it was bad but it was more freezer burned than our first experience.

The milkshake is not worth it, my husband got a vanilla milkshake for $8 and it was the size of my palm it just made no sense why we paid for. The place is cute but I was disappointed in the service. Also, I had brownies in my ice cream and it was bitter and tasted horrible (I'd say skip it). I will say the waffle bowls, cones are amazing they taste phenomenal.
