Short answer: for those of you not looking to read, YES, GO!! Best Food in CALIFORNIA and a Staff to match!!! (❤️🙏Mary) Long answer: My husband and I are celebrating our anniversary in Fort Bragg, Ca. So far we’ve had a few good meals and unfortunately a lot of very poor experiences. It’s our last night in town and we wanted to find a good Pizzaria.. like. 😌🤌🏼🤌🏼 and stumbled upon D’Aurelio’s. Wow, packed house seemingly full of local residents, I can see what my family meant ( my aunt lived here ) when they said Fort Bragg was a nice town! Warmly greeted as we waited for an elderly woman and her (grand?)son to be seated ahead of us Meanwhile the smiling faces, the laughter and every one knew each other. Kids coming from soccer, a casual date, a family get together over pasta and sandwiches. You could smell the food across the parking lot 😋. Needless to say, we had a seat. We were brought a plate of the largest slices of bread I’ve ever seen and Mary assisted with taking our order. She asked if we had come in before. When we told her we had not, she pulled up a seat and said “ no problem, let me explain ..” she ‘Bob-Ross-ed the menu in under a minute explaining Everything in detail. We ordered the “Large” 16” pie as a 6-topping, build your own. Mushrooms, Artichoke hearts, Olives, Bacon, Feta cheese and Salami on a thick crust, medium Alfredo sauce and heavy cheese. 😗😲🙏🫡 and a full order of Spinach Ravioli Garlic Parmesan; a glass of Pinot Grigio and a Beer. We took pictures… 👀 Think Chicago style Deep Deep Dish with the best house made, hand-tossed crust I’ve had EVER! You will have leftovers even if you’re feeding an army… (or a marine) This little restaurant, that’s been in business since 1985, ALONE, makes me want to revisit this town! Amazing food, people, service and atmosphere!! A HUGE thanks to All and Everyone involved in this little shop! We will be back! You made us believe that this town is what its reputation for decades Really is !! God Bless you, Front Staff, Chef(s) Back of House and everyone in between! Darling, quaint, bustling, tranquil, fun, friendly little find 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

Wonderful people, amazing food!!! The hostess was so kind and inviting--I just wanted to hug her! Our waitress was also wonderful and kind!! They make their own bread, pizza dough, pasta, meatballs, and sauces. The only things they do not make are the ravioli and tortellini. Amazing lasagne, ravioli, pizza, and salad! The appetizer bread was incredible--soft and doughy with amazing flavor!! We wanted more. The pasta dishes are supposed to come with their own side of bread, but we didn't receive them. We already had so much food, that I chose not to bother asking for that extra bread which the menu lists for the pasta dishes. The pasta dishes come with either a soup or a good-sized, side salad. There are three stand-alone salads to choose from--Antipasto (Mediterranean-style with lettuce, pepperoni, salami, olives, feta cheese, et cetera), Caesar, and a house salad. We chose the side salads, which are a smaller version of the house salad. The delicious lasagne was of a good portion, with perfectly thick noodles and great sauce!! It was my daughter's plate; thus, I only had a couple bites. I chose the delicious ravioli (a big portion of large, round pillows) which comes with choices of sauce--marinara, meat sauce, or a garlic-parmigiano olive oil--or you can have half the ravioli with one sauce and half with another. I chose half with meat sauce and half with the garlic-parmigiano olive oil. The sauces were amazing and mixed well together!! The pizza comes with a choice of thin or thick crust. There are several choices of named, topping combinations. My husband chose the thick crust with his own combination of sausage, onion, and mushrooms. We enjoyed the delicious pizza, which has a great sauce!! My husband prefers a less-thick crust, but not thin. His only complaint--the crust was too thick. I love a thick, doughy crust, myself!! The leftover pizza slices were still great the next day!! All of the food was amazing!! The people are sooo wonderful!! Thank You all for an awesome dinner and kind, friendly camaraderie!!!

Last night after a school function I decided I didn’t want to cook. Like usual I didn’t have a co-pilot 😔 so the choice was mine solely. Gotta say there are good points to being #HanSolo and bad, it’s been so long since I had a Chewbacca that maybe this is my fate 😳. I stopped at D'Aurelio’s which has been a local institution for almost 40 years in Fort Bragg. The quality of the food and menu offerings has remained a high standard throughout the entire time. The atmosphere is family friendly from the original benches, table cloths and kitchen you can see into. Their service is always top notch too, the staff tries to anticipate your needs. Today I was craving something with dough, first I considered pizza then after careful review (plus a call to my daughter and her boyfriend) I pivoted to a meatball sub. The bread they make here is exquisite. It is hearty and full of flavor.. it can be a meal in itself. The meatballs are large and delicious. I chose to have my sandwich made open faced so I could take half to work for lunch tomorrow. It was very good and I am itching to finish the other half now. The only thing I wish I added was a side of tomato sauce. Their salads are always large but the best part of that is their house Italian dressing. I highly recommend this spot for any occasion. It's my daughter's 13th birthday and I couldn't WAIT to take her here. After an hour wait (which we didn't mind) we were sat at our table. We were seated by the door which was open and i was freezing (and pregnant) and asked if we could possibly shut the door. The waitress made a funny face when I asked and just walked away. Ok I said and smiled. We finally ordered and i sucked it up about being freezing (with my extra coat over my lap) We ordered a mushroom and olive pizza and chicken alfredo and a couple other items. To my surprise once we finally received our food, half of our pizza was soggy and my Alfredo noodles were over cooked. Now when I say soggy I mean The bottom of the pizza litterally was wet and doughy. It almost looked like half our pizza pan had water in it. The hostess asked us how was our food, i politely let her know that half our pizza was extremely soggy and wet. She went and talked to the owner (a women by the register) and came back and let me know that's what happens when you order a mushroom pizza. Are you kidding me?? Like I haven't ever had a mushroom pizza?? I said ok, now explain why only HALF the pizza is soggy then (mushrooms everywhere) she went back chatted again with the owner. She came back and let me know the owner would be coming to talk to us. Guess what????? Owner never came!! Worst $83 dollars I have ever spent. My daughter (the 13 year old birthday girl) was so bummed she went and sat in the car before they even could sing happy birthday. Sincerely,...
