The pizza is good we had the "Prairie," which means "thinner crust." Well-cooked, it arrived hot, and the sauce was spicy without being overwhelming.
Unfortunately, the restaurant is what happens when you run a franchise with a spreadsheet. The crew is untrained and is not empowered to act to make a customer happy. This is clearly a restaurant designed to make the investors money and not to make customers happy.
We showed up around 5:30pm on a Tuesday. It was a sunny, beautiful evening. We approach the host stand, where three people kind of stared at us until I said, "we'd like to eat here."
A voice said, "put them in {I can't remember the name}'s section." Then a fellow took us to a place far away from the window, plopped our menus on a very small table behind a stub wall garnished with about two dozen open paper bags that gave us a great view of the back of the bar or the wall.
I asked if we could have a different table, and the fellow said, "what's wrong with this table?"
After I explained that I'd like to be near a window, he explained that the back room was closed, and that customers were rotated to different servers as people came in. He moved the menus to the table next to the original and walked off.
The server arrived, and she was friendly but any question I asked went unanswered after she asked if I had been there before (I had not, but I'd been told the place was good).
She then came and took our drink order, a wine and a beer, and we waited a while. She came back and took our food order and eventually brought the drinks. The beer looked fine, but the wine came in a weird little barely-filled glass (3 oz?). We asked about it, and she left to "talk to her manager."
The food was good, the service was extremely unpolished, and the fellow was borderline rude. The prices are on the lower end for downtown Fort Collins. Apparently, that's the prices are the trade off for the restaurant lacking a training budget.
The pizza's good at a nice price, but don't expect an...
Read moreStep 1: received a text to join their text list and get a $10 off coupon. I hate coupons they always end up being a pain but for some reason I clicked on it. Step 2: received the $10 off code but instantly a timer started ticking down from an hour indicating it would expire. The button below said “order online” or something like that but it clearly listed online as an option. Step 3: tried and tried to get the coupon online to work it kept saying invalid. Step 4: just called in my order explained the coupon and the woman on the phone said “oh yeahhh the coupons don’t work online” annoying but fine, whatever. She said to just show it to someone when I came in and it would be fine. Step 5: arrive to pick up my pizza, tell them about the coupon and it’s the classic coupon experience where it feels like the first time they’ve ever heard of a coupon and they’re scrambling and eventually call the manager up from the office. The manager asks to see the coupon and by this time the magic 60 minutes is up and it says expired. In a chastising tone she explains that’s it’s expired she will redeem it today but next time we will be denied. The manager seemed grumpy, accusatory and was just rude at the end of the day.
Coupons are meant to drive business and this did the exact opposite for me. I’ve learned my lesson on coupons for another 5 years and also learned Beau Jo’s has a serious disconnect between marketing, management, and order logistics. If it had just been a pain and annoying I never would’ve left the review but the rude manager making us feel like we were in trouble for using this stupid fricken coupon was what pushed me over the edge. (But also the...
Read moreMe and my family went out to eat here, and when we got there we were told it would take 20 minutes. Those 20 minutes became ~50, due to a large party. That happens, but the real issue began once we were seated, and my mom (politely) asked the server when the food would get here as overall the whole experience was taking a long time. The server brought her manager over, an older woman, who proceeded to belittle us and raise her voice at us. She was insanely defensive and rude the entire time, basically shouting, not even giving us a chance to respond. She brought up irrelevant and incorrect things against us - trying to claim that we stated we were waiting at the table for an hour, which we did not say, and when we briefly mentioned that a couple members of our group got and waited here before others, she then attacked us for that as they don’t serve incomplete parties (despite there being a 3 minute difference between when one group got here and the other, and it was all while we were waiting to be seated). Overall she was just so hostile and rude. I’ve never experienced such awful customer service. She came back later and realized that she did mess up, giving us a gift card. That however did not make up for not only the horrible treatment we received, but also for the horrible food. I will not be going back and will be telling others to avoid this...
