The initial issue was that I had accidentally added something other than half and half to my drink because the carafe was unmarked. I mentioned this to the barista and she reached into the refrigerator and placed it on the counter. However, I had already poured the soy into my cup and so I asked her to make a fresh drink.
This is where things went a bit sideways.
The barista expressed her annoyance with me and started to make a second drink, but she also clearly made a point to make me wait for the drink. It is also worth noting that my friend also mentioned that barista had been rude to me. Honestly, it wasnāt a huge deal, but I did take the time to send an email to Dazbog to share my concerns because I thought the feedback would be useful.
I received an email from the store owner roughly three weeks later. To be fair, she did apologize for the late response.
However, she made the relatively bizarre claim that I had asked the barista to make a third drink because she had poured too much coffee from the second drink after I had asked for room for cream.
Iāve read the email from the owner several times and Iām always struck by the heavy-handedness of the ownerās response to me and that a significant amount of space in the email was intended to marginalizing my concerns. For example, complaining to me that she had to āabsorb the cost of 2 additional drinksā and that I needed to āaccept responsibilityā for my actions when I had simply asked them to remake a drink.
In the end, the complaint is really about the owner's response to me. Perhaps she should consider taking cues...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot sure if it was because my daughter and I are people of color (other than white, because white is a color), but Fort Collins has been known to treat my population differently. Today around 11 the store was not busy and we ordered a ham& cheese croissant and 2 coffees. We promptly received our coffee and waited at the counter for our food. 20 minutes later and seeing SEVERAL other customers served we approached the cashier with our concern and continued to wait. Then 5 minutes later one if the baristas asked what we were waiting for... they said it would be 2 MORE minutes. We had paid 15% tip and I was nauseous, just recently having undergone a double mastectomy, and NEEDED to eat. We proceeded to wait longer. The barista then pulled out our croissant and gave it to the white male customer that had arrived just MINUTES before. Then STILL no apology, we asked for a refund and they acted as if WE did something wrong. NEVER again will I give this Dazbog in Fort Collins, off Ziegler, my business. I'm sure other local coffee shops will appreciate my business and treat my daughter and I like humans. If no stars were an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a nice little coffee shop. Iām not personally a huge fan of the taste of Dazbog coffee but thatās subjective and my family all enjoyed their coffees (mine was a small black drip coffee and they had assorted small lattes and a kidās hot chocolate, which they all enjoyed).
Decent amount of seating and a small conference room with a big table thatās great for groups.
I only took a star off because I was irritated with their mandatory tipping policy.
I ordered five drinks for my family and I and they tacked on an automatic five dollar tip⦠and then I was still prompted to add a tip when I paid.
I would absolutely have tipped the very friendly barista and I paid their obligatory $5 tip, but I donāt think it is appropriate to require or mandate a tip (much less a tip that is actually over 20% such as was the case here).
If this is the policy in a similar way as a restaurant might add a standard gratuity to a large party, it should be...
