For those who are unfamiliar with poke, I think the best description is something like a deconstructed sushi. You pick a base (rice, greens), you pick some protein (various seafood, chicken, or beef), you mix it with a "salad" and then you had all the other mix-ins. At the end, you've got a bowl of poke. Honolulu Poke Bar is a tasty stop for lunch when we're in the area and much like sushi, it fills you up without leaving you feeling overly full or sluggish. The staff is always friendly and helpful for those who aren't sure what they want, the restaurant is clean and neat, and the food is very good. With the variety of items available to make your bowl, it would be difficult for someone to not find something delicious here.

I’m not quite sure why there are reviews about the portions here not being enough.. I got a Medium bowl that came with my choice of 3 proteins, I finished my entire bowl and was left very satisfied and full, I would say the Large bowl with your choice of 4 proteins would keep you full for most of the day! Everything was very fresh with wonderful flavor. First time coming here and I really enjoyed all my options, will keep coming here a new experience of flavors every time. Very nice laid back atmosphere great for an outing to eat something fresh and healthy without feeling rushed to eat and leave.

I wanted some boba delivered so checked Noco Nosh for options. Honolulu Poke Bar looked like a fun one to try. I ordered the Taro milk tea and the strawberry green tea to try. I'd never had a poke bowl before so ordered a small bowl with cooked beef and selected the toppings that sounded good to me. Since I wasn't sure which sauce I might like I picked their House sauce. It was a good choice! Highly recommend.

So to start off, we loved the food. I had a small bowl with avocado, and my fiance had a large bowl with an extra salad and avocado. We had a free protein scoop coupon, our total was $25. We went around dinner time on a Thursday.

There weren't very many people inside, 3 other couples besides us. It's a large restaurant with all new, modern decor so it could accommodate a large crowd. The two women working behind the counter were friendly enough, but pretty slow. We probably waited around 10 minutes for the 3 people in front of us to order. I'm just comparing that to Chipotle or Qdoba (similar concept) which takes around 1 minute per person.

The food was great, I like how you can mix proteins. I had shrimp and tuna. The tuna was a nice deep red, and didn't taste fishy or frozen. The shrimp were very small and fishy. I'd rather have large shrimp chopped up than small fish, they seemed like freezer shrimp and seemed very cheap. The crab and seaweed salad were great. The spicy sauce was pretty spicy, which we liked.

Now onto the negatives, my fiance wanted 2 salads with his, seaweed and crab. The girl told him "no" when he asked that, twice, so he had to repeat he was willing to pay for the extra salad several times for her to give it to him. I thought that was rude and made us both uncomfortable. If we are willing to pay for extra things, just give them to us?

The large bowl has 4 protein scoops, the small has 2. We got home and compared bowl sizes (amount of food in each) and they were WAY TOO similar for a price difference at all. My 2 protein scoops were full small ice cream scoops, the additional two for the large bowl weren't filled. The bowl sizes also all come in the same plastic bowl with the same amount of rice. That makes no sense. A large bowl should have more rice and be in a larger bowl. It should also include more than one scoop of salad and toppings, since it's a large.

A large bowl was not enough to fill him up, even for the $14. We would be much happier if the large bowl cost $15/$16 and had more rice, was in a bigger plastic bowl, and included an additional salad scoop and more scoops of toppings. I get it, fish is expensive. But calling a bowl "large" when really all you get is an additional spoonful of tuna is not fair.

I also noticed a difference in amount of avocado. I got a full scoop and my fiance's scoop was closer to half full. Yet we both paid an additional $1 for avocado.

The scoop by the way, is tiny. Smaller than most ice cream scoops. I assume for cost control and efficiency. But it was so small.

I'm sure we will return eventually, hopefully for a better customer service and...

I eat here pretty often. Always fresh!! The reason I have to post now is the other day when I went in there was a prime opportunity for a situation to go bad... more than once.... but the crew here was AWESOME!! It was busy... big line forming, I ordered the first part of my bowl... but the guy was moving fast and he put the seaweed salad on the fish. I can’t have seaweed salad. He had to start over. To the next person... she asks me what sauces... I say the aioli and then start to say “house” (but that’s not what I meant), she had already squeezed it all over the dish. Oh boy. I hate the house sauce. I meant the sweet & spicy! I was going to take it anyway because this was already the second time it had been made.. I felt terrible! She started it all over without saying a word and no look of anything to me. I was thinking “wow!!, that’s pretty awesome!”. I went to pay... different person. I thanked her and sat and ate and thought how nicely that had gone instead of how it could have if the people working would have been upset or annoyed with me. Having said already that I eat here often- I would have been really bummed and wouldn’t have wanted to come back. I really appreciate the kind & professional way they took care of me and I know that the second time was really my fault! Thanks everyone for your awesomeness!!! See you again... next time I won’t stumble on my order (I hope). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🍛!

Fresh, healthy, create-your-own sushi bowl. I...

I was so excited to know there was a place nearby for me to get some seafood to satisfy my island girl craving. I visit almost weekly and have come to "expect" a certain serving size. I was very disappointed today(and one other time) when the serving size was much smaller than normal. It was busy today and when I asked for a the crab salad and seaweed I was reminded that it would cost an extra dollar which I didn't mind paying. To my surprise the seaweed serving was about a third of what I usually get. I asked the server if that was all I was going to get and she said yes. I told her that I usually get more and she said if she gives me more I have to pay another dollar. Once again I told her that I come here often and usually get more and all she said was "well, this is what it is". My suggestion is that you be mindful of your serving sizes. If the protein is a "scoop" then the scoop should be full every single time. If the seaweed is an extra charge then it should be measured in a small cup or something to ensure consistent servings (the crab is in a scoop, so why not measure the seaweed too). I wish this could have been a 5 star rating and maybe...
