We stumbled upon The Corner Slice while walking around downtown Fort Collins, looking for something quick and easy that could work for our whole family—including our baby daughter—and it turned out to be the perfect spot.
Right off the bat, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which always sets the tone for a good experience. They had March Madness basketball on the TVs, which added a fun energy to the place, and their selection of sodas, beer, and wine was way better than I expected for a casual pizza joint.
I started off with a slice of cheese pizza and some garlic bread, and let me tell you—it was so good I had to get up and order another slice. You know a pizza place is doing something right when a single slice isn’t enough and you find yourself going back for more. The crust, the sauce, the cheese—everything was just spot on.
The whole vibe of the place was relaxed and welcoming, super family-friendly, and just the kind of spot you want in a neighborhood like this. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite, hanging with friends, or bringing your kids along, it’s got everything you need.
We had such a wonderful time, and I’m honestly already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended if you’re in the area and want great pizza with great people in a great location. This...
Read moreThe Corner Slice is the first pizza in Fort Collins that I look forward to eating again. Why? 1) Crust was properly hydrated and salted. This delivered a golden crunchy crust while still maintaining enough moisture for it to be chewed and swallowed. Also, the toppings were applied up to the crusts' edge, leaving no more than an inch of crust around the border. Its nice to order pizza and have the vast majority of it covered with toppings! Its also nice to want to eat the crust. 2) Cooked perfectly. Excellent mix of dough hydration, oven temperature and cooking length. 3) Sauce had tomato flavor profile depth. I could taste tomatoes and herbs, instead of sugar and aluminum. 4) Large fresh chunks of vegetables that were able to maintain their integrity throughout the cooking process. Remarkable! 5) Cheese ratio was perfect. There was enough cheese for each bite to be stringy... without there being so much cheese that it dominates the crust and congeals into it's own food group in your mouth. 6) Staff was kind and professional. It's nice to not feel like I'm bothering someone just to place a to-go order. 7) Most importantly, the price was right! Excellent work to all involved!! See...
Read moreReal NY style pizza is hard to find out here west of the Pecos, and I'm one of those boomer food snobs. [I cooked in upscale restaurants when I was young]. Amazingly, I was really impressed. Excellent thin crust with high gluten flour. A+ on that. Just mozzarella and pepperoni, but good quality. Very little sauce, I would have liked enough to taste it. Served piping hot, a rare thing. Pizza overall 8+. But what a deal! During happy hour (2:30 to 5:30), I had 2 slices of pepperoni and a nice craft beer, all for $9! (Tivoli lager is $2/pint during happy hour). I doubt there is anywhere else in Old town with a deal this good. One note, we went around the block two times trying to find it. Problem is the sign is small, freestyle, and I couldn't read it, even from 10 feet away. The ambience is basic, I would have liked a couple of aging mafiosi lurking in the corners. They need a big sign with red letters saying "Hot NY Mafia Style Pizza!" I highly recommend this college vibe hole...
