Let me first start off by saying that my husband and I loved this place. From the decor, atmosphere, and great beer choices, it was our favorite place for date night or to grab a beer while in town.
Until the other night, 12/23/2018, we finished up some last minute shopping and decided to stop in to our favorite place to finish off the evening with a beer. We grabbed a seat at the bar, the bartender made eye contact with us, we pulled out our ID's, yet she didn't say a word or even come over to us. The bartender, a women with red and black hair, proceeded to greet and help four other couples that came into the bar after us. The first two couples, she knew them, we weren't in a rush, we let it go. And then more people came in, she blatantly ignored us.
She looked at us, and then spoke to the new couple that had walked into the bar. After the fourth couple, who had literally just walked into the door and had a beer within minutes, we grabbed our stuff and left. We have never felt so disrespected at any type of establishment, let alone one we loved to go to.
This is nothing against The Forge, still a cool spot, good beer, but seriously, we've never been treated so poorly. I worked in the restaurant industry for a few years, I understand busy, what happened the other night was out right rude. I hope this issue gets addressed, not even for us, I'd hate for anyone else coming in for a relaxing evening to have to experience...

Went mid-week, around 4:00 p.m. The setting was very inviting, with the inside feeling like a mountain cabin, and the back patio having lots of vines on the walls. Good selection of beers available. But that’s where the positive parts of this experience ended. In all the places I’ve been, I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a server who was as rude and hostile as this bartender (Kate?). From the very beginning, she was abrasive and acted as though serving a customer was an annoyance and an inconvenience; the 2 other customers who were there had already been served. She also didn’t offer a menu, say “thank you” or “Enjoy!”, etc. There's more to the story, but you get the idea. It all seemed very different from someone who was just having a bad day. I doubt I will go back, but if I do, I won't stay if...

Went there and asked for a taste of something; I didn't like it--actually it was the worst tasting drink I possibly have ever had--so I asked to try something completely different. The bartender said only one taste was allowed. Really? Wow. Then when I went to pay for a friends drink, $7, i was told they have a $10 minimum on cards. Really? I have been to businesses all over the country and the most is a $5 minimum. So, I was offered a $3 taster size of a drink. Hmm, interesting that wasn't offered sooner. Still syrupy, but better than the first. I think the level of unhelpfulness and generally bad customer service is something that is unacceptable. Why be in business if you don't...
