Ah, the Boomerang Diner in Fort Gibson—a place where culinary dreams are dashed and parking nightmares come true. My recent visit there was a testament to the chaos that can ensue when you mix a full diner, a small trailer, and an F150.
First off, finding a parking spot was like searching for a needle in a haystack. The lot was packed tighter than a clown car, and there was absolutely nowhere to park my trailer. It was as if the parking gods had conspired against me, laughing as I circled the lot in vain.
But the real fun began when I tried to leave. The only exit forced me to navigate through a drive-thru that resembled a scene from a Three Stooges movie. Larry, Moe, and Curly were apparently in line, playing bumper cars as they attempted to order their "chicky nuggies." It was a spectacle of vehicular incompetence that would have been hilarious if I wasn't stuck in the middle of it.
After a solid 30 minutes of this automotive circus, my only accomplishment was escaping the lot without a scratch. No food, no service, just a harrowing adventure that left me questioning my life choices.
In summary, my visit to the Boomerang Diner was a masterclass in frustration and futility. If you're looking for a place to test your patience and parking skills, this is the spot for you. Just don't expect to actually...
Read moreThis place is absolutely perfect! Good old diner style meals. The seating area is somewhat small but everyone manages to get around well. The Elvis and Marilyn posters are perfect alongside all the other posters from the past. The kids meals come out in a cardboard 1961 Firebird. My daughter loved it. Their food is cooked to perfection. I had the Spanish omlet and it was amazing. My wife had the original burger, it was great until she seen the Hot Burger come out to another table! That will be my next meal there, it looked great. My daughter got the chicken strip meal. The best chicken strips I've ever had at a diner! I had to fight my seven year old over them. We will definitely be stopping back by the next time we're in Ft. Gibson. Or you could just open one in Skiatook. That would be awesome as well! The only reason for four stars is the parking. It gets pretty tight parking there and trying to drive around the drive through window in a truck is impossible. But the food is worth the small...
Read moreAs always the food was excellent, the food was very good and the atmosphere was very good, but I have been amazed at how much boomerang has raised their prices in a very short amount of time. Don't misunderstand there's still priced along with most restaurants it's just that their prices have jumped up quite a bit in a short amount of time. Also they have taken a few of my very favorite items off of the menu and the servers don't seem to be quite paying quite as much attention to what you order and more often than they used they don't get the order completely correct, not sure if it's the servers or the cook. The other day I was in there and ordered chicken strips and was told that I could substitute mushrooms for the french fries with a slight upcharge instead of that I got charged for the chicken strip plate, which includes french fries, I did not get french fries at all but I was also charged for the full order...
