on May 5th my son and I visited Shuck and Dive . We ordered Fried Oysters , Louisiana chicken wings,Mac and cheese and collard greens. I also ordered a margarita which in total was around $44.00 . My son bit his oysters and it was not done, I took a bite of my chicken wings and the taste of the chicken was unpleasant. It tasted as if it was fried in the same seafood grease . The food Wasn’t pleasant at all. I was slightly upset but I contacted the restaurant and spoke with Jimmy and advised that I wasn’t from Florida and I tried the restaurant because I was in the area, I advised him that I did purchase a margarita and was willing to pay for the drink the collards greens because I did eat that . The worker Jimmy advised me that I didn’t have to worry about paying for the food to call back in the morning and speak with Debbie L who was the manager who could refund me in full. I contacted Shuck and Dive approximately at 9am on 5/6/21 and advised Debbie of the circumstances and what the worker Jimmy advised. Debbie stated that she would need to contact the owner regarding refunding me . She asked for my full card number which I didn’t refuse but I advised I will come back to the restaurant so that my card could be processed for a refund or I could provide the last 4 digits. Debbie ask for my total I advised her and provided the last 4 digits of my card which she was able to locate my order. I called her back around 11:30am to advise I had located my previous receipt before the margarita was added and she stated the owner must be out of town. I asked why I couldn’t receive a refund and she is the manager and she said she didn’t have the authority and I could send a email. I have contacted the health department regarding the cross contamination of cooking and my concern. I would not recommend this business to anyone. The customer service is not pleasant, the taste of the food was unpleasant. How could this place be award winning ?? I now have to contact my bank to stop payment which cost me at least half of my...
Read moreWe have been coming to this place for a while and we spend a good amount of money here. We have a 2 year old son who will play kids games or YouTube videos on phone. We have NEVER had anyone tell us he wasn’t allowed to do that. So to our surprise tonight and might I add a busy loud Saturday night, a lady comes over to us to turn it down or off because they have a “no phone policy”. We were all dumbfounded as we come here at least 2x a week, and never once has this policy been relayed to us, apparently there’s a sign but plenty of bars have sarcastic signs or a lot of signs all around so who was supposed to know that was an actual rule to dine in this place. Then the server, who’s been our server just about every time we have been there, comes over with an attitude almost attack mode like we haven’t over tipped him every time we come. We were taken off guard, we were going to ask for boxes pay and leave and never return. When the owner walks up and says we have a no phone policy for over 26 years speech and he is standing right next to my son and says he can’t hear it either but that they have their policy, and for our trouble he would give us the food comped. We don’t need charity from this hole in the wall restaurant/bar, what we needed was some respect as regular paying clients and a better approach to a situation that they blew out of proportion over a child playing a game not bothering anyone in a loud busy sports bar/restaurant. As we were leaving the owner proceeds to apologize to people next to us as if we caused the scene when we were simply eating our food and my son was playing a fruit cutting video with no music. We left without even finishing our food, and with a bad taste in our mouths from such a horrendous experience.
This place and this so called policy is a joke and they will never see another dime from us. Don’t take your children here and god forbid you need to use your phone, because it may disrupt the loud...
Read moreMy friend and I had been eyeing this establishment for some time now, as we are regulars at No Man's Land (in the same plaza). We decided to give it a try since we were starving after grabbing a drink at No Man's Land. When we entered, the restaurant was full except for one empty tabletop to our left. I looked around for a hostess but saw no one, and the one waitress I could spot retreated to the kitchen. Even though the table was still dirty with the receiptbook on it, we decided to just sit and wait for service (to get out of the doorway). When the hostess finally appeared, she immediately snapped at us and said "the table is dirty" as if it was OUR FAULT. I was honestly shocked and appalled at her attitude. I explained to her that we had not even noticed the hostess stand, and when we came in no one was around to greet us. She brushed us off and walked away. She returned and wiped the table down, provided us with menus and silverware, but didn't apologize for her previous behavior. The waitress Jenny asked us if we were ready to order, we said we needed time. Befuddled, we perused the menu when the owner's wife came to us and barked "drinks?!" I asked her if she was the manager and she stated "we all work together." OK. I proceeded to inform her of our unfortunate welcome by the hostess, and she immediately attempted to excuse her behavior by over sharing what the hostess was going through personally. Still no apology. As I was speaking, the owner's wife looked away and seemed not to be listening. After she left, my friend and I decided that we had experienced enough. It's unfortunate, but I will NEVER revisit this establishment. I hope that the hostess's father pulls through however, there is no excuse for how we were treated with no apologies from anyone....
