Waited a year to write this, SO, Me and my girlfriend moved from Atlanta last August and began our search for a real Bible reading church close to us and that had a good community, worship team and a preacher we enjoyed.
We were/are members of First Baptist Woodstock and Northpoint (Alpharetta) before moving down here, so our church experiences have been those.
If visiting from Atlanta area, this is the one you’ll enjoy and will feel very welcomed and accepted at. This is a Jesus following church through and through.
This is a solid fit for sure, never felt out of place, or out of touch in the ministry. This is an awesome place to worship and Love God with our brothers and sisters. Worship team is on point as well👌.
We tried a lot of other churches, and our home place of worship was immediately FBFTL after our first service.
We immediately enjoyed how welcoming it was from the start, and how familiar it felt to go to church like we where back home in Georgia. We throughly enjoy it here and know others will as well. Sunday Bible class is super awesome and it’s great being able to discuss the word with others in a scholastic environment. It’s been a blessing to grow with the church and they’ve helped our relationship grow stronger. We recently started are premarital counseling here, and it’s been just great! Thanks Pastor Leighton!
We enjoy everyone at FBFTL, and really enjoy how Pastor James goes through the Bible verses, and preaches the Word.
If you like taking notes like I Do and learning more about the Bible. This is a great place to do that. The message is always digestible, and never some interpretation, The way it should be.
Pastor James and the rest of the staff/community has totally touched our lives in a great spiritual way and has encouraged a great learning environment for those who want to learn from the Bible. We love coming here and enjoy the fact the others around us do as well. Very happy with our neighborhood house of worship, and I’m happy to have such great people in my prayers and...
Read moreI’ve enjoyed going to FBFTL for several years! It’s a wonderful church located in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale, with a rich history of ministering to those in need not only in the Fort Lauderdale area, but around the world with their missionary work. I especially like Pastor James’ preaching, he is very passionate about diving into the word of God and understanding the scriptures. He brings his own unique style to the message every week, and I find that it resonates in my own life and is very applicable. It’s evident that both the leadership team and volunteers at FBFTL are working hard to reach the community in a unique way and they have a heart to serve! This past year they’ve provided meals to frontline workers, given out backpacks when the school year was starting, meal kits for the Thanksgiving holiday, and many other examples of generosity in our city! FBFTL has done a good job at offering in-person services in a socially distant manner during the COVID-19 crisis. They have a large sanctuary that allows families or individuals to spread out, and they typically have two service times on Sundays, 9am and 11am. They have a great worship team for Sunday services and they have small groups currently meeting online. They also offer fun outdoor events for the community, which they usually post about on their Facebook page or website. My family and I attended the event last month where they had a movie night out on the lawn, or I should say parking lot, where they showed the movie Elf. It was a lovely outdoor event where they allowed people to come together and enjoy a movie night and get in the holiday spirit! This church has been a blessing in my life and I believe with their efforts they will continue to impact the city of Fort Lauderdale with the love of God. I look forward to seeing how FBFTL progresses as a church, and I’m proud to support the work...
Read moreMy family attended the Christmas show last Sunday.Excellent show.It was a happy beggining but a sad ending for at least 12 families We parked our car at the CVS huge parking lot adjoining the church. There was no "Tow sign" in front of our parking area. When we came back after the show, we learned that the car had been towed by All county Towing. When I went to the towing company there were at least 12 families, All county Towing is PREYING on the Christians who attend the show. I called the FBC yesterday. The lady who answered the phone was arrogant and does not belong to this Church. All I was asking was to help other Christians who will be coming to the show this week. Just Post a sign/banner to warn the people coming from that area towards the show. All those 12 families did not park there intentionally. There was no easily visible "Tow away sign" in the lot.If 1-2 families did that, I can understand that. Please think-12 families especially christians would not illegally park there.all I am asking is a little help to those Christians coming...
