Update....in response to owner. None of what David told you was communicated to me during that first visit. Other salons have been able to do what he couldn't in that time frame. I was mislead and the fact that there will be no compensation for David's mess up, doesn't show any compassion or care toward the customer.
I hate to be the one to give this salon and stylist a 1 star, since all the other reviews are so great, but I feel it's right to share my experience. I went to this salon and stylist David 2 weeks ago for the first time for a balayage and hair cut. First of all, when I arrive I find out the person I spoke to didn't book me in for a cut and only partial highlights, I needed a full. I was annoyed about the lack of haircut on that visit but also understood and said I would come back for that, so he could focus on my color. I showed David a photo of what I wanted. When he started coloring my hair, he realized I had a lot of hair, he said he may not be able to finish my color in that visit. I explained that I am 37 weeks pregnant and have a 20 month old at home, so finding time to go to the hairdresser is very difficult and so he got it done. He finished my color and when he bought me back to the chair, I couldn't even tell that my hair had been colored. It had taken 3 hours and $185 + tip for my hair to look no different to when I arrived. David said the hair had been the color I wanted but then he put a toner in and made it too dark. I explained that I would wait a week to see if the hair lightened to what I wanted, and David gave me 3 doses of a special lightening shampoo to help it along the way. This didn't bring it to the color i wanted so I called to make another appointment to get it fixed. When I arrived at the next appointment, David was not friendly or accommodating in any way. He tried to tell me that the first visit was never going to get my hair to what I wanted and that I was always going to need a follow up appointment. This is a complete lie! He had the color apparently and then added the toner which made it too dark. He then told me he wasn't going to fix it and the he 'wasn't the stylist for me.' Being so pregnant, my hormones and emotions are on overdrive and I am not proud of how I reacted to this news and was extremely upset, so I had my husband call to try and get a refund or at least some compensation, since David refused to fix his mess up. The manager and owner got involved and they came back and said they were NOT going to give us anything back. David has made up lies to his boss and they have chosen to belive him over the customer. I am so saddened by this. I feel like they have made me feel like the lier, when I am a very honest and understanding person. I have never been treated like this before and just feel like I have been taken advantage of. All I wanted was to get a fresh color and cut before my next baby arrives because I won't have any time after that happens. Now, I cannot afford to go to another hairdresser to get the color done the way I was hoping for, because this salon refuses to give me any money back. I am extremely disappointed to...
Read moreMy first visit here with Brad was nothing short of amazing. He did everything I asked for at a competitive price point. I’m so picky with my hair and did a ton of research reading reviews like you are now, so when Brad took me from brunette to platinum, I thought I struck gold and found my forever stylist. My second visit, I got the beautiful blue I asked for.
The third visit is when things went awry. The receptionist scheduled me 10 weeks out (blondies, you know you can’t go past 6 weeks… but I didn’t know). Color removing was to be included with a root touch-up. When I arrived, Brad only had time to do half of the appointment. I left with yellow banding on my roots and faded blue hair. But Brad assured me that I can use my product at home. Because I trusted him and was not happy with my hair, I did as he advised… and my hair fried off. I was able to get one more session to touch up my roots and fix the banding. To no one’s shock, more hair broke off and Brad became very unresponsive thereafter. Throughout this process, I expressed my concerns about the damage and Brad assured me my hair would be fine. I’m not the professional, so I came in entrusting their expertise at the expense of my own hair.
Looking back, Brad was a good stylist but not so good at communicating or informing me of the realities of what I wanted. Even my sister’s color specialist who only saw a video of my hair said my blonde days are over, yet they gave me one more session. So maybe it’s a lack of experience or knowledge. Either way, the owner, Ronnie, was unbelievably rude and unprofessional when I reached out to him. He took Brad’s side which shows the problem starts from the top. I’m not a crazy Karen. I just wanted to maintain my platinum without losing the integrity of my hair, but Ronnie treated me like I should return to the planet I came from.
I can’t even say I’m mad yet, I’m just shocked. They told me they would no longer work on my hair or do anything to fix it. They made false claims that I was pushy and didn’t listen to my stylist’s warnings (all of which were none). I was denied any compensation and now I’m left with damaged, outgrown blonde hair. Steer clear for anything other than basic cuts and basic color needs, NOT color transformation. I’ll update this review when I find another good salon for those looking for color...
Read moreI had an appointment with Angel for my first balayage. I was very excited as I’ve seen Angel’s work on Instagram and was excited to have her do my hair. I have dark brown, long, virgin hair. I knew she wouldn’t get it the platinum blonde I wanted on the first try so I knew to expect a Carmel balayage, which I was totally cool with! My experience with Angel was awesome. She made sure I understand what she was doing and, most importantly, my hair came out great! I love it! She was really great and I get compliments on my hair all the time.
BUT this is where I have the issue and can’t say I would recommend this place again. When I called to make an appointment with Angel, they told me she was booked out for a couple weeks; whatever no big deal, just keep that in mind if you plan on going there. The woman on the phone told me that balayage starts at $190. Okay great. While Angel was doing my hair, she asked if she could do a gloss. I asked her what the prices were for that and she said she didn’t know any of the prices and that the front desk girls would know. I figured, no big deal, it can’t be that much.
When I went to check out, the price for my balayage was $330! I only brought a certain amount of money with me and my phone was completely dead. I had to have my fiancé send me money while I stood there embarrassed. To make matters worse, the front desk girls were shamelessly making fun of me! This was such a terrible experience and made me feel terrible. After doing a big change to my hair, I was expecting to feel radiant and happy afterwards. Instead I felt embarrassed and upset.
When I got home, I saw my receipt and was even more upset! I was charged for highlights, base color, and other things that was never communicated to me! This whole experience left a bad taste and it’s not something I could ever recommend to someone. Which sucks because Angel did such a good job with my hair.
I’ve been to plenty Aveda salons my entire life and have never had this experience at one before. I’ll happily go to an Aveda salon closer to my house now since I had driven 45 minutes to have my hair done by Angel and be disappointed by the staff and lack of...
