I have been a patron of Sweetgreen in NYC for over 5 years. Moved out here and saw they were building one in April so I gave it some time before stopping by to see if it’s open. I genuinely love the layout and ofc the ingredients are fresh. If you’re an early lunchgoer, it’s never crowded and it’s highly unlikely you’ll have to wait in line.
My main issue with this location is the lack of knowledge concerning company policy and the unnecessarily argumentative way in which the discrepancy has been handled. Because I’ve been buying Sweetgreen for so many years and pretty much get variations of the same thing, I’m familiar with pricing in regards to extra charges. So the first time someone told me red pepper flakes were extra, my reply was it isn’t. I didn’t expect the attitude nor the fishing for excuses to support the claim why I might be incorrect (I was asked if it was my first time at Sweetgreen). I was charged extra during this visit and many future visits. Some are aware there is no charge (giving me unsolicited verbal confirmation) while others remain steadfastly misinformed. The real issue is that some (not all), especially a man who told me he was the “head coach” insist on being right instead of trying to gain understanding. The reason I’m aware there is no charge for the red pepper flakes is simply because the app does not charge. I can understand their confusion because of where it is placed at the salad bar with the toppings, but the fact remains on the app it is not listed as a topping (what I’m continually being charged for). It is listed as a dressing add-on. I’m also aware of the option to get two dressings before a charge is added for a third. On the app, two dressings AND red pepper flakes add no charge to the bowl. I also work in customer service and worked in food service many years ago, so I understand how interactions can get. But at this point, I am tired of the persistent and dismissive attitudes of some of the misinformed employees at this location. This feedback was originally intended to go directly to corporate, but there is no River Market location listed on the site. Hopefully, this review falls on the right set of eyes so the staff can be appropriately and collectively informed. I truly love Sweetgreen and there are no other locations nearby which makes this an ideal daily lunch option. I don’t want to deal with unnecessary negative behavior from a place where I intend to patronize frequently. — — Good news is the issue of the overcharging has been fixed overall, although never directly addressed. As I said before, sweetgreen has lots of fresh ingredients and a chalkboard on the wall of the location displaying which ingredients are local, organic, and not specified. I feel like this list really helps people choose the type of ingredients they want to consume and I love sweetgreen does this. Here are some of my preferences and why: Quinoa instead of wild rice because the wild rice is a rice blend and not pure wild rice (hello starch). portobello mix because the safest way to consume shrooms is cooked (look up agaritine if you want to know more). chickpeas lentils Wish these options were organic: Cucumbers Tomatoes Recently sweetgreen made some changes I am not fond of. Hopefully they see this and change it back: *no longer able to pay with the app. This makes the transaction not as smooth, especially when you still have to scan for the membership discount. *herbed quinoa is a no, I had it and would much prefer plain quinoa because of all the flavors already in the bowl. black beans replacing lentils is a hell no. Black beans are everywhere. Lentils are a much healthier options I'll have to switch it up a bit because a few staples are gone, but I still recommend this place. MONEY SAVING HACK: If you get more than 3 salads/bowls a month, get the sweet pass membership. You save $3 each day you get a bowl or salad. The other day I had a $5 reward. The membership is only $10 so it pays for...
Read moreI have had the oppotunity to patronize your new Fort Lauderdale location 5 times. The overall ambiance is fantastic. The restaurant is clean, tidy and easy to navigate. The staff (up until today) have been exceptional. The food quality is good, especiallt compared to all your competitors.
A few areas needing improvement: The WIFI has consistenlty not worked. It says "no internet connnection". There is also no phone service in building. If you provide complimentary services, its important to make sure they work. Ingrediants/nutrionial facts - I have some allergies and dietary restrictions, while most facts are provided, the stay have no tool that provided details on the salad dressings. This would be helpful to have on hand, as well as trained. Staff member this evening - I was greeted by Brice. He was cordial and made good eye contact. His counterpart (will let you figure out who) was not. As we navigated what I wanted he seemed to struggle with communicating, making eyecontact, and lacked enthusiasm. His proportions given were on some scoups less than have the scouper, and they are not generous portions to begin with. I am chalking it up to a bad day (as we all have them), however I have come to expect a little more than the experience I had today).
If you can fine tune these areas, from my perspective, it will create a much better custome...
Read moreCustomer service for this restaurant is nonexistent. I work in a corporate office and when orders are placed it is usually a large order and every time something goes. Trying to reach someone to resolve an issue is impossible. I ordered a salad with chicken and the salad came with NO CHICKEN. We ordered bread with the order and there was no bread to be found. We decided to give them another try, again no chicken with the salad, and the bread we received was sliced bread that looked like it came from a gas station. We reached out through email, online chat, and phone. An hour later we received an email saying we would get a credit for the inconvenience. When I went to log in to my account to use the credit, the credit was gone with no warning or communication. I have never been so frustrated by the customer service of a restaurant but this experience has been horrible. Will never order from there again. I've seen multiple reviews about customer service and never being able to speak to a human, you should try changing that and listen to customers...
