I had the opportunity to try Wilton Wings for the 1st time July 18,2018 and my experience was horrible. So when I came upon the building I was a little confused on the entrance door. Anyways when I walked inside I was not greeted at all by any of the staff members. There was a sign that said seat yourself so I did but I had to fine and grab my own menu. About 5 minutes of sitting there no one still came up to me and there was only one other customer inside. When my waitress finally came up to me she automatically just asked me what I wanted she didn’t introduce herself or anything. She did mention that it was 50cent wing day. When I got ready to order I placed a other for the Bacon Blue Cheese Burger. I honestly don’t think that’s what it’s called but I inserted pictures down below. And I also had a side of hot lemon pepper wings. When my meal came I was super excited to bite into the juicy burger. I took one bite and all I tasted was blue cheese not even the bacon the bread or burger just blue cheese. So I took a napkin an scraped off all of the cheese I could before I said anything to the waitress. So I took another bite and I still taste blue cheese. I was done and over it. Don’t get me wrong I like blue cheese burgers but this was way to much and it didn’t taste like I was eating a burger. It took me about 20 minutes to get the waitress attention to ask if she could take it off the bill or change my burger. I basically asked for the same thing just with no blue cheese and she said ok will make you a whole new burger. Not even 2 minutes pass by and she comes back and says the owner says we can’t make you a new burger but what we can do is cook the same burger and scrap off all the blue cheese for you because you ate half the burger. I looked at her and said half I took two bites that’s it . I wish I took a picture so I could show you how much I didn’t eat. So moments later she comes back with my burger and I tell myself give it a try. I bite into it and it still taste like blue cheese no surprise and I spit it out. She comes back to the table and try’s to tell me oh you don’t like that one either. Well you did order the blue cheese burger. I told her I understand that but I didn’t like it. She than proceeded to tell me what did you expect it’s a blue cheese burger. Once again your point? The whole burger is not suppose to just have one flavor. She brings me my bill and I pay for the BURGER I DID NOT EAT NOR GET A NEW BURGER OR THE MANAGER DID NOT COME AND TALK TO ME ABOUT MY ISSUES and my wings. I will not recommend this place to nobody the customer service is horrible. The manger needs to fire himself. I never seen anyone not go out there way to make sure the customer is happy. This is why this place gets 1 Star and if I could give it a lower score I would. Oh yeah their fries are nasty to I will not be coming back to this establishment and I still tipped my waitress even though I shouldn’t have.
Please don’t lie I don’t like liars at all. I didn’t eat the burger at all. If I did why would I ask if you can change the burger? Please make sense when you respond. When the waitress brought back the other burger I spitted it out. Did you check the napkin. No you didn’t. You was to busy having time playing with your dog at the bar. Which is also very unsanitary for a food establishment. How can I be full off 6 small wings? I didn’t even eat the fries. Please lie again. Your very unprofessional and disrespectful and by continuing like this your businesses going to fail. But like they say I AM GOOD LOVE ENJOY. 😘 by the way what business owner stays up to read reviews at 3:30am and responds negatively to their suppose to be customers. They say some people can’t handle the truth and liars never prosper and you my child are one of those people have a...
Read moreI don’t write reviews good or bad, this is actually the first review I’ve ever written. The only reason I’m writing this is because I genuinely and literally threw $50 worth of food in the garbage. Being from the northeast where wings and pizza are basically god like food, I was stoked to try this place from word of mouth, great reviews, and the claim of being voted best wings in Fort Lauderdale. Being disappointed is an understatement.
The “fried” mushrooms (and I use the word fried lightly) were awful. They had a sliver of breading then basically flash fried to where the small amount of breading that was there just fell off and i basically just had a bare bones mushroom. I asked for ranch instead of the horseradish it’s normally served with, didn’t get neither. In that trash those went.
The “Bar Room pizza” was just as gross. When I say there was no sauce on the pizza, I literally mean no sauce. It was dough, waaaaay too much cheese, and pepperoni…..that’s it. And I’m all for a good greasy pizza, but when it’s so greasy the bottom of the box is soggy and falling apart, it’s way over the line. I remember having better pizza during high school lunch back in the day, and I could easily have gotten a better pie at Little Caesar’s for half the price and that’s saying a lot. I ate two slices and threw it away.
The wings I really don’t see how these got voted best in the area. I ordered just 10 regular hot wings with the sauce on the side so they didn’t get soggy on the car ride home and I toss them in the sauce myself. Open the box and the wings are DROWNING in sauce. They are just soaked and soggy and mushy, no crisp at all, and SMALL. I actually had 12 wings in the box because of how small they were which okay cool. I was also under the impression that the sauces were homemade, pretty sure the hot is basic Franks red hot. Which yes I get that’s hot sauce, but like other places I’ve had wings at and worked at, I thought they used Franks as a base and add extra ingredients to make their own hot sauce. Nope. So I ate 4 wings and tossed the rest.
Maybe this place was having an off day or something, it happens I get it. But just insanely disappointed I wasted $50 on third rate food. If you really want good wings in the Lauderdale area, go check out Wings Plus. Those are the best...
Read moreUpdate: owner responded immediately. I am updating them to 5 stars. They not only made me another pizza but gave me a whoopie pie (another New England favorite). This time the pizza was edible! There is still the weird seasoning/flavor, but it was much milder than lunchtime pizza and while still the predominant taste, not so strong to be offensive. How I wish it wasn’t there and I could taste the tomatoes, the crust is perfect though! Everyone has different expectations, while I can’t say I’m a fan of their pizza, this remake was much better. I will definitely be back to try something else and their customer service is excellent. (Original Post) I love pizza and eat it all the time. I’m from the Boston area and I have yet to find a pizza to my liking since moving down here. I was so excited to see that Wilton Wings was now offering a South Shore pizza, or what we call a New England “Bar Pizza” and quickly ordered a pepper pizza to try it out. I have never been so disappointed or actually had pizza that tasted so terrible that I had to throw it out. It was under cooked and looked correct ( although excessively oily) so I put in the oven to crisp it a bit, but then I took a bite. There is some overpowering of taste that is still lingering in my mouth. I can’t identify the flavor, but that flavor should not be in pizza! It could be the oil they used (seemed to be covered in it), maybe something in the liquid the peppers were stored in or some weird not appropriate cheese, but it is completely unpalatable. The crust seemed right, but they seriously need to do some research on the toppings which are really quite basic: crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and usually mozzarella cheese or Italian blend(some add a touch of cheddar to give it the bar pizza traditional look) and baked till it is a crispy cheese delight! I am so disappointed as I had such high hopes, but whatever is giving that flavor needs removal immediately! I had to throw out the pizza and now must go use some mouthwash. I will give them one more try, probably should have tried wings at a wings restaurant, but was so excited to see “South Shore” pizza… which it is not!
