My partner and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary after seeing a lot of positive posts on Instagram. We found the location a bit hidden, tucked away on the second floor of a building. There is a large, 24/7 monitored parking lot in the back, but be aware that you must use an app to pay as the machines are out of service.
The atmosphere is modern and chic, which was a lovely backdrop for our special occasion. Our table was ready and waiting when we arrived, and we were directed to a QR code to view the menu.
The Food Our waiter, Dan, was helpful with our order. We may have over-ordered, but we enjoyed every dish. We started with the soft-shell crab appetizer ($18), which was lightly breaded, deep-fried, and not at all greasy—a perfect portion for two.
For our main courses, we had the short rib ($44), which was expertly cooked tableside by Dan. It was tender, perfectly presented, and cooked exactly to our liking (medium-rare). We also ordered the sashimi dinner ($70), which featured 21 pieces of very fresh, high-quality fish in an adequate portion. The final dish was the corn chicken ($20), which consisted of breaded chicken pieces topped with corn and heavy mozzarella cheese. While it was a popular dish, it felt more like pub food than something for an anniversary dinner.
The Experience and Policy Issue While the food was excellent, the service experience left a sour taste. The restaurant did not offer any special acknowledgment for our anniversary. However, the most disappointing part of the evening came when we politely asked to take our unfinished bottle of wine home. Our waiter, Dan, informed us this was "illegal." He brought over the manager, who repeated the same policy, offering to hold the wine for us for 15 days instead.
I was surprised, as I've been to many restaurants in New Jersey that are happy to seal an unfinished bottle in a "Wine Doggie Bag" as per state law (see picture). Even after showing them the official NJ government policy (NJ Law) on my phone, they simply shrugged it off. I was forced to finish the wine grudgingly. I hope management sees this review and rectifies this policy with their staff to prevent future misunderstandings.
A final note for anyone booking: there is a $5 per-person charge for no-shows when booking through Resy. If you BYOB the corking fee is $35 per bottle.
Overall 3.5 stars The food was good and the initial service was okay, but the management's lack of understanding of state policy and the overall experience left a negative impression. I would go back if they corrected their policy to comply with the New Jersey 'Wine...

Disappointing Experience at a Pop-Up Event
The reservation process was unnecessarily complicated and lacked transparency. Instead of allowing direct booking through Resy, the restaurant required customers to email them first and then wait for a call to finalize the reservation. Additionally, pre-payment—including tax and a mandatory 20% tip—was required before even knowing the menu. While I understand this was a pop-up event, the execution could have been much smoother.
Despite the hassle, I booked a table with anticipation. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations. The course meal we were promised was incomplete—one of the main ingredients had run out, and instead of braised pork, we were served scrambled eggs. This was particularly frustrating because the restaurant had the exact headcount in advance due to the prepayment requirement—how do you run out of a main course when you know exactly how many guests to expect?
Service was also subpar. Some dishes were meant to be shared, yet no individual plates were provided until we specifically asked. Once we received them, they were never cleared away, and no fresh utensils or plates were offered for dessert. To top it off, the beer we ordered was served at room temperature.
The owner did come by to apologize for the missing main course but made no adjustments to our bill. Given that we had already pre-paid $480 (including an $80 tip), this felt like poor service recovery. A few days later, the restaurant reached out and offered a $50 voucher—essentially $13 per person—for the missing dish and disappointing service. Frankly, this was an insult, considering how significant the lapse was.
I used to frequent Anytime Kitchen, but after this experience, I have no desire to return. The way they handled this situation showed a lack of regard for...
Read moreWe are very excited to try the new restaurant in town , food is alright it’s similar to MORU . But I am here to share my customer service experiences.
We called and ask for wait time and been told one and half hour , but actually we get to sit less than 15 mins it’s lots of open tables and bar tables available when we arrive .
After we order , sit there 35 mins not once someone approach to me asking how I doing or how is the food , and I asked for soy sauce once for my Uni caviar bowl , my waitress never brought me one , then my husband asked again , instead of getting my soy sauce shortly she said “ oh the rice already has flavor “ I was little irritated but didn’t say anything , she turns around and bring back the soy sauce bottle and said “ this is going to be super Salty !! “
Well do you get right to judge the way I want to eat ? Or I’m not allow to eat my uni with soy sauce ? When your client ask for something don’t you think you can just simply said yes I will get it for you right away?
I believe for the high end restaurant like this , their employee’s manner and professionalism represents the restaurant values , this is very rude act and leave us very unpleasant dining experience. But we still pay good amount of tip at the end for gods sake . I guess $30 is worth for her to grab a soy sauce bottle for literally 35 seconds , she does nothing but grab that bottle for me , sounds like a easy money isn’t it .
Overall we are not considering to go back , I believe their employees need to be train a bit more about manners and respect to serve the client , I have read the review I am not the first one experienced...
