I was really excited to try Oise being that I am a huge foodie and the food and atmosphere looked amazing. But our experience wasn't great for the $300 price tag (3 people). We had reservations yet it took 10 minutes of us standing outside before we were even greeted. Once we got into the restaurant we were jammed into a table that people were constantly walking past and bumping into us. At one point they asked my friend to move over so another group could get to their table.
The cocktails were expensive and small. My friend ordered the last drink on the cocktail menu and we were informed that the gin in it was non alcoholic. This was super misleading because the price was the same as all of the other drinks and there was nothing labeled "mocktail." We asked that they put actual gin in it. After she finally received her drink it tasted like it was only soda water so we asked our waiter if they put any gin in it... and he said oops they did not. So he added some gin in the drink she had already drank a quarter of instead of making her a correct drink fresh, so her drink ended up being gross since it wasn't properly mixed.
When we got there we order 3 sushi rolls and waited 45 minutes before putting in our entrees. People arriving after us were getting their rolls and even our entrees ended up coming out before the rolls did. Since the tables were so small it was extremely chaotic rushing trying to make room for new plates since everything started coming out all at once even though we tried to space it out.
When our bill came our server came back to tell us that he forgot to mention there was also a credit card fee he had to add to our bill, which there was no mention on our bill stating that this was the case.
Overall our girls night was extremely chaotic and not enjoyable. I really liked the pasta and the food was good but really small for what you get. The restaurant is trendy and beautiful. I understand it was their first week opening but there were 3 managers walking around and they knew we were frustrated yet they did nothing to make things right and our waiter seemed overwhelmed and confused too.
I'd wait a while before giving this restaurant a try in hopes they can fix their issues. And I'd sit at the bar or a booth if given the choice.

Read moreWe went to Oise on a Wednesday evening and had a table of 4 dining in. The entrance to the restaurant and the plant life and decor inside are gorgeous and provided a beautiful entrance to a meal we were extremely excited about!
We gave the food a 3 because we thought the portions were small and the flavors were off. The gyoza dumplings had a weird tangy flavor to them, the surf and turf roll was just ok for the price, the Kilgore roll had amazing flavors but was presented as more of a taco then a hand roll and was way too difficult to bite into. The charamelized meatball saved the meal for me!
We gave Oise a 2 for service. We arrived around 6:15 and the restaurant was half empty so our server seemed like he had it together. As the dinner wore on and the restaurant filled up that was no longer the case. The tables are way too small for sharing plates without knocking things over and getting in each others way. The restaurant needs to figure out a better way to utilize the space to create a more relaxed experience for the diner. Waiters and diners passing by were constantly bumping into our chairs and bodies. Towards the end of our meal no one came to fill our water, checked on us or made eye contact with us. At one point a bar back dropped a cup of sauce on our table out of nowhere and then left. We had no idea what it was for and when we finally found our waiter we had already eaten the item it was meant for! So disappointing! I also thought it was ridiculous that it is $5 for a small sprite and there are no free refills! We were going to order dessert but our waiter wouldn’t make eye contact or check on us so we decided to leave and get ice cream next door.
We will come back and give it a chance again in the future and hopefully our reviews help make some positive changes for this beautifully...
Read moreI have thought about this review for a few days. We really wanted this to be fantastic, but it was “fine.” Attractive enough interior. Place seemed wildly overstaffed as 5 people greeted us. We were seated at the dreaded “face the wall” table although only 50% full and never got beyond 2/3. I am used to the “wall”, but this table is particularly bad as the night played out as one faces a wall, and is bordered by wall on right, serving station on left and bathroom view/kitchen thruway ahead. Unappealing, busy and loud all night. Management needs to eradicate this table. Server was very good. However, she started with the upsell of “still or sparkling water?” Tap is fine. Asked for an iced tea with lemon. “We don’t serve iced tea” was the response and that has never happened before. We started with the dumplings, which were excellent. However as there were 4, not a particularly good value. My companion. Had the truffle carbonara and I opted for the “Dynamite Crab Roll.” The pasta was excellent with healthy portion and some delightful pieces of pork belly. The sauce was very thick and clung to the wide pasta. However, after a few bites the dominant flavor became the truffle. We could not finish this dish, did not take home and, frankly, I had to brush my teeth when I got home. However this was better than the crab roll. The crab was the renderings of shavings, probably snow crab (It wasn’t specified, but blue crab is specified in another dish). Not a lump to be found. In place of soy dipping, a butter dip was offered. Fine, except melted butter without a heating element becomes cool quickly and was unappetizing within a minute. The actual roll was bland. Avoid. As soon as we left the restaurant my companion said “I guess this place is not going into the...
