Captain D's — Restaurant in Fort Payne

Most of the time I'd give this a 3 1/2 stars.this was my grandmother's favorite place.the only place she'd eat out at.& the food use to be great.the fish is now more batter & grease than fish.however today I had the lobster rolls they're pretty good.could of use more lobster though,my opinion.but over all pretty good.the fries are good.when I get fries,today I didn't,I got hushpuppies.they're GREAT!!!!!!!!love the hushpuppies.so I give them 5 stars all day.they've not lost a thing over the years,sadly the fish has not complaining just stating facts my opinion.the fish ain't what it use to be way back when.& while I'm at it I'm not a fan of the new redesigned interior.I personally liked the old barn look much better.the bright colors now are for me a very uncomfortable dinning experience.I also got the lobster rolls on sale today.fix the fish tone down the colors & I think you'll have the old...

I previously went though the drive thru and got the family dinner however, the food was absolutely horrible. I’m not one to complain but I in fact called Captain D’s and told the manager how bad the meal was. She was very apologetic and stated she would put my name down to replace meals at no additional cost!!! So a few weeks passed and I remembered our meals but when I informed the manager( Robert) he looked in the book and my information wasn’t there. I was speechless 🙁 however Robert was so kind and professional and indeed replaced our meals with no questions asked. My grandson was at my side and the biggest smile came across his face. Twice I have pulled up to the drive thru early and was ignored. Sat for 15 to 20 mins yelling, "excuse me" only to drive to window be seen and ignored again. Finally, a young girl comes to window after me explaining the issue tells me, "Oh, yeah we're closed." If your not gonna work the full shift don't take the job! I've worked in restaurants I know you serve the full time, don't leave til last customer is out. Then clean up. Others behind me were done the same. I have no problem with the food only the bad service! I refuse to be ignored when it's our money paying your check! Not to mention wasting our time and gas...If you need the job then work, if you want to stay home then don't...
