Ordered the Filet Mignon (med-rare) fried rice "From The Kitchen" & two appetizers, 2 orders of spring rolls (4 rolls total) & 1 order of fried oysters.
The spring rolls are the best I've ever had! Light with a crispy shell and delicious cabbage & more inside. Dipped in duck sauce, they are the best. The oysters came with a dark vinegar dipping sauce that I did not care for. They were better with the yum-yum sauce but what isn't?
The filet fried rice came with the same veggies as I had on 9/3. The fried rice was standard. Good. The steak was cooked an acceptable medium and was twice the amount I received on 9/3.
The salad was lettuce with wisps of carrot & purple cabbage(?).
Also, new was a container of soup (a near-clear broth with 3 mushroom slices & a few shallots.
A big improvement over my 1st visit.

Ordered the #17 Filet Mignon (med-rare) & Scallops (to-go) from the lunch menu for $15.95 + $1.95 fried rice surcharge.
A 10 minute trip to my house & I found all the warm ingredients to be VERY warm. The visual presentation was very noice.
The "salad" was merely a palm-sized, 1/4" thick portion of iceberg lettuce with two wisps of purple cabbage. The only dressings available were ranch or ginger(?). There were no bread, crackers, croutons, tomatoes, bacon bits or even shredded cheese options. I opted for a Catalina from my refrigerator.
The med-rare filet was med-well to well & cut into appx. 5 - 2" x 1" strips. The entire volume could easily rest in the palm of one's hand. The strips were fairly flavorless but I found some juice in a separate compartment, that may have came from the veggies, that helped add a bit of flavor. The yum-yum sauce also helped and was a delightful surprising addition to the meal. Overall, the steak strips were overcooked, chewy & about as tender as a sirloin.
The three scallops were good. Since this is only my 2nd time having scallops, I will be brief. I will say that the seasoning appeared spot on but needed a pinch more salt. There was a slight hint of heat in the back of the throat after that sneaks up on one but is barely noticeable. Very nice.
The mixed veggies appeared to be zucchini, broccoli & thin sliced carrots that were in a bit of flavorful broth. Juicy & well seasoned, they were quite enjoyable.
The fried rice was basically unseasoned but the soy (SALT!) & yum-yum sauces handled that. The two packets of soy sauce that I received were low or no gluten, so I opted for a traditional soy sauce from my refrigerator. Also, I don't remember it being anything other than rice but it was the most enjoyable part of the meal (yum-yum).
For just under $20, this visit was decent. I did order and then wait at one of the tiny 2-seater tables at the entrance for about 20 minutes. A small soda, cup of hot tea or even an offer of a glass of water would have been nice, while waiting. It is rumored that the bar will begin serving alcohol sometime around mid-September. Update: 10/1/21 Some alcohol is now available.
The staff is very pleasant. Whether it's to-go or dining in, display your appreciation for their hard work with a well placed tip; especially at the...
Read moreOn any given time, I would rate this experience 4 stars across the board, but tonight, just wasn't one of those nights, and a business needs to know where it comes short. It wasn't a busy night at Osaka, only had 2 grills going, serviced by the same server. That server ended up not being very proactive, and didn't come around hardly at all. Both parties had to get up to get their own to go boxes being left alone so long after the cooks had already left, and then because we had a six or more party, stuck us with an 18% tip on top of it all. Unfortunately under no circumstance did service earn that gratuity, needless to say I'll remember to never come back with anything over 5 people, or we will find somewhere else to eat going forward, this isn't a cheap place to eat, and we spent nearly $70 for 3 people in my family alone. For Osaka, I recommend a retraining reminder for your servers to be attentive to your clients, and earn that 18% gratuity they're stuck with or earn the tips they get. Everyone at the table agreed it was...
Read moreThey opened up before they had alcohol license. Why would anyone do that that wants to get a good start as a brand new restaurant? The service was very polite and friendly and I saw absolutely no issue with it.
But you could get the very same food on the other end of town at the toke but it's 10 times better. They charge you three times the amount of the Toke. We don't go to the tote very often but we do love some warm plum sake with our food.
I predict they won't last except for the fact that some people might like to sit around the grill and watch somebody saute something and that could be why they think they can charge three times more.
But we didn't want to be in all of that it's in the middle of covid we didn't want to be at a table with a strange person that we don't know if he's sick or not sick slinging things around.
So we got a table away from all of that in the bar. But we still had to pay as if we had sat there and watch the man sling...
