Dr. Ham seemed caring. I went to him for a few years. The reason for the lower star, is because he was treating me for chronic pain, for about 2 years. I never had a dirty urine, until recently. It was a trace amount of fentanyl. I know everyone says, they don't do drugs, well, I truly do not. I watched my brother die from drugs, being on life support for two weeks before we turned the machines off. I'm in my mid 50s. On disability. Moved to Alabama in 2012. I don't have any friends or family in Alabama. I'm always home, unless it's to go to the store, which I rarely do, or go to my doctor's appointments. I was discharged as a patient, even though I have NO idea how anything, especially fentanyl, got in my system. I don't use medicine from anyone else. I have chronic kidney disease and I am cautious of what I take. I only take medicine the doctors feel are safe. I read online, from statistics, labs can mess up your tests and it can give a false positive or a false negative. It happens more then I knew.
I suffer from major depression and have high blood pressure from my kidney disease. Dr. Ham's office said, he won't even see me for my depression meds or blood pressure medication. I've struggled to find good doctors here. I thought I found my forever doctor, so to speak. That was one positive I needed. I don't trust doctors, but I trusted Dr. Ham. I most likely won't go to another doctor in Alabama. I've been through so much, that I can't put in this, but I'm beaten down. Dr. Ham's staff who discharged me was harsh, considering I've never had issues in the past and don't have any signs of being a drug addict. Chronic pain patients suffer from this type of view. I understand doctors need to protect their license, but it's doing patient harm when they are truly not addicts and need treatment for chronic pain, to live a better quality of life.
Edit: After 8 months without any care, due to my post traumatic medical stress (medical abuse), I finally tried another primary care doctor. I'm very cautious! However, she has helped me more in 3 months, and is taking better care of my health issues, that Dr. Ham didn't even pick up I had. I'm being treated. Lost weight, feeling better. She referred me to pain management. I have to travel, but so far, I'm getting treatment to help me function. I didn't realize how uncared for I was until I seen a different doctor. Sadly, it appears Dr. Ham is more interested in money and letting his staff dictate what does and doesn't happen for the treatment of his patients. Heartbreaking!!! We truly need more doctors whocare. NOT the kind who just have an assembly line to get money from. My advice. Look at how your medically being treated, not how nice a...
Read moreI have been Dr hams patient for several years. I never have any appts except check ups, never have needed anything extra. He was always one to listen, would ask me at least three times before walking out had we covered everything. Genuinely seemed to care. Until I truly needed a appointment to see him face to face to talk to him and was out off for over a month. I tried to explain to the girl answering the phone it was very important , my blood pressure was sky high , and making me scared having panic attacks also. She informed me she would send him a message. Next thing I received was a message I needed a psychiatrist and did I want one local. Next morning his nurse called to tell me to double the dose of the medicine I was on , that was not working. I left my home and went to a doctor. One I could walk in and be seen. The man listened and gave me medicine. Medicine that has helped. I got a certified letter saying I was dismissed immediately from his care because I had been prescribed a narcotic from another doctor. . And ?? I was prescribed narcotics during my knee procedure and it didn't come Dr Ham. .. only narcotic I have ever gotten was tramadol , the least of a narcotic , this surgeon handed oxycodone to me and I never took a one. If I was out seeking pills why would I only take a tramadol ?? His office staff answering the phones are rude, his nurse is very nice , and as for the Dr , I'm so unsure. Is this something he was aware of?? He has always been nice. I have been so upset but at the same time, when I needed help what was I suppose to do?? It was clear I was not seeing him for a month. . so if i did such a horrible act by trying to be helped , then maybe it was a eye opener for me how they truly are at their office. I also received a call from synergy counseling , which I had no idea what it was for. Lady said her name was rylee and she had a referral for me from his office but wanted me to know their office was not a place with a psychiatrist and wasn't any services there for such. I told her I was far from needing any of that , I needed my blood pressure stable so I would stop panicking. One day I hope to meet Dr Ham and see him face to face and ask him myself how much he truly knew , because he has lost a patient that truly liked him and...
Read moreI have been a patient of Jason Ham since he began his practice. I have never had a problem with him personally and he had always taken very good care of me and I’ve always been grateful to have him as my primary care physician.until recently when I was unjustly dismissed as.a patient of his based on fabricated lies. His office staff primarily his office manager that is rather a lying, degrading narcissist which is the main reason for the excessive turnover and undoubtedly inferior training capabilities needs to held to a higher standard. She is a menace to the entire facility and I hold her personally responsible for my dismissal cause she was such a B I T CH! Furthermore she had lied to me in the past during the pandemic when my insurance company was being billed 246 dollars every 3 months for a 5 minute teledoc appointment when I was private pay before pandemic paying 52.50 per visit without insurance. I spoke to Jason about the matter and he was unaware of the price gauging of charges being submitted and said he would get to the bottom of it. I called her and spoke to her I couldn’t afford over 120 some odd dollars after BCBS wrote off over 100 dollars of the charge and was billing me the difference. I had a 7,000 dollar deductible and I told her I was better off bring a private pay patient and that I didn’t want to use my insurance. She informed me that it was against the law not to use my insurance if I had it which I knew was I lie since I use to be an office mgr 30 years ago in the medical field but do much has changed since then I questioned Jason himself and he was very upset and asked who told mf that snd I replied your office manager and he in turn said she had lied to me. His staff turnover rate is ridiculous and so many are incompetent of doing their jobs it’s ridiculous. I made the comment that the medical field had gone to hell in a hand basket in which Dr. Ham had even agreed and we had discussed the tight leash the DEA had on patients and not allowing controlled substances to be filled by local home owned pharmacies in town. I was even told by one local pharmacy that the DEA was more lenient on big...
