Rooms are very nice, breakfast is good, housekeeping and front desk employees, very nice. Management not so much. We are staying 7 days spending well over $1000.00. We have 2 dogs that are very good, you wouldn’t know they are here unless you seen them with us. We are on the 4th floor and on the 2nd day we asked if we could move to the first floor to make it easier to take our dogs in and out to use pet area. Front desk girl was very sweet and asked me to come back around 1 in the afternoon, which I did. She waited on me and went to speak with her manager, asking when we checked in, when we were checking out, etc. finally the manager came out and asked what the problem was and I said there wasn’t a problem and explained what I was asking for. I told her and then she asked if there was anything wrowith the room and I expuagaon what we wanted. She then says well, we will have to blah blah blah , but if you want to move we will need to charge you for an extra day. I said well I’m not doing that and left. So the next day, manager calls to tell us they will be service room and the dogs need to be gone, I told her they would be and we hung up. We are hear for the UFTA finals, so my husband dogs left at 6am. I made the beds, emptied garbage, got the used towels together for the housekeeper, who was very friendly. When she got to my room she asked if we needed anything so I told her I had done everything since I was not leaving the room so I gave her my towels and garbage and away she went. I just got a call from manager, I assume telling me that our room will have to be serviced tomorrow because i didn’t let them do it today, and didn’t let the housekeeper in. I said well if I knew it HAD to be done I would have let her, I just thought I would help out!! She says well” I called you this morning and told you and your dogs need to be out of the room tomorrow!” By this time I’m pissed and will spend my money somewhere that appreciates...
Read moreWould give 0 stars if possible. Choose the Holiday Inn across the street instead! I traveled from another state to assist my senior-citizen parents with their move out of the Fort Payne area. Because my family’s belongings had been loaded into a moving truck, my parents made a reservation for us at this hotel a week in advance, so we would have somewhere to sleep. When we attempted to check in, we were proudly (and rudely) informed by the front desk worker that the hotel refuses to serve “locals.” We explained that we were moving, and the worker said she called the manager and that the manager said we could not stay there. I tried to explain to the worker that I was not local and was from out of state, but she would not acknowledge me. Our moving truck was parked next door to the hotel, but the worker refused to acknowledge that as well.
The worker said that locals cause problems and destroy rooms. I hardly think a family of senior citizens and their adult daughter presents such a risk. We were not permitted to speak with the manager and were told we could call the manager the NEXT day. We were then told to call corporate, which we did. While on the phone with corporate, the front desk worker threatened to call the police because we were standing at the desk.
After speaking with one corporate worker, he said this was unacceptable and would fix it. After being on hold for a long time, another corporate worker answered and started the process all over, only to tell us that nothing was to be done about this anti-local policy which this hotel alone has.
Luckily, we were able to go across the street to the Holiday Inn, where we were treated kindly and had a wonderful room. I am done with Hampton/Hilton after this experience. Apparently 30 years of Hampton/Hilton loyalty and honors membership means you are unwelcome at their hotels, all because of my...
Read moreBed Bugs! Stayed on the 3rd of June, room 424 (new wing) woke up with what I thought were flea bites on my arms. I told front desk person who changed my room to 412. I noticed that welts were all over my upper body, back, sides, chest, neck, arms, with each welt having multiple bite marks. I've never seen or been bitten by a bed bug so that's why my initial thought was that they were fleas. pretty evident they were not fleas. 18 to 20 large, disgusting bites as confirmed by my physician. The room they changed me to had issues as well. I always turn the comforter back from the bed because of concerns the comforter covers are not washed after each guest. Well, when I turned the comforter cover back I saw dried blood spots on back of comforter. This confirms they do NOT wash the comforter covers after each guest. This place is disgusting. This was paid for with Hilton Honor points as my husband is a Diamond member, and we complained to Hilton directly. The Hampton's manager never responded to the complaint. I will also say that it seemed the housekeeper may have been aware that bed bugs existed in the room based on some things she said while I was leaving. Its disgusting that A Hilton Franchise does not have preventative bed bug pest control. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Scottsboro Hampton. Its a bit farther but much cleaner and more professionally run. In the meantime, we had to throw away my suitcase and other items. We have pics of everything. Please see...
