I was less than pleased.!!!!!! Would not go back! This place is deceiving bc it’s busy.!. Sharkys needs to decide if they want to be a beachside restaurant or a mid western hometown restaurant. Upon entry you seat yourself which is ok, you get the table you want that way (hopefully)! Once we frolicked every level we finally found a table. It was busy so we thought this must be the place in town to go this many people here…..the food must be good……..oh boy were we wrong. Get ready for this… Sat down and our waitress was prompt. We ordered our drinks. Eventually the margarita came. Was not good….more mix than actual alcohol and it was so sour I had to add a sugar to the margarita…..I asked for a bottled beer next. (The bartender could barely keep her eyes open. Don’t know if it was the drink she had hidden under the counter she kept sipping on or her fake eyelashes that were Two miles long and too heavy for her eyes, maybe she couldn’t see she was making a margarita . 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ We ordered the avocado toast. It was ok….def had to try and find the avocado on the toast which, then looked like a store bought neon green avocado slime with some tomatoes and Long strips of red onions on it that you had to chase to keep on the toast. The toast/bread itself wo the topping was on point until I got to the part that was burnt and they tried the kitchen hack of scraping it off….didn’t work, the burnt taste had already seeped and permeated into the toast. Our main coarse ….this was dreadful.!!!! How hard is it to mess up an adult entre of Mac and cheese??????? Well let me tell you….Beff tip Mac n cheese. Needs some serious love put into it and help. The Mac wasn’t fresh. I could tell it was pre cooked at the beginning of the day and thrown into a bowl and cheese thrown and mixed into it. The cheese was not mixed consistently and somehow the Mac and cheese itself was Greasy and clumpy. The beef tips thrown on top of the Mac n cheese tasted old and tough, the dish almost felt microwaved. The canned mushrooms is a complete restaurant fail and shouldn’t ever be used in a restaurant as it was in this dish. The green peppers and onions made it more of a Philly steak Mac n cheese not your traditional beef tips…..also if your steak is quality steak you should never smother it in A-1sauce as this dish was 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️. On to the tacos……insanely small size for the price. The taste was off and rather bland, could only eat one taco and tacos are our fav. I don’t have much to say about the tacos they weren’t memorable except, remembering to not take another bite!
Our waitress was nice and obviously the food being cooked the way it was, wasn’t her fault. The owners and the kitchen staff should really step in and evaluate the service and quality of the food! $65 wasted and now I wished I went to the deli at the grocery store nearby and gotten a sandwich and saved my money on decent food...
Read moreI recently stopped by sharky's for the first time in a good while to pick up dinner for my family.
It is fairly similar to applebees. Good atmosphere for hanging out and having a meal. There is a nice bar up front. The service is quick and polite.
We got the mushroom and swiss burgers with Fries, Sweet potato fries, a bowl of creamy potato soup, and a grilled cheese with fries for the kiddos.
That is where my enjoyment ended.
With the menu price increases compared to what is pictured on the google listing (please add updated menu pictures) this ended up being 55 dollars for takeout. With an additional 50 cents per item for packing it to-go.
For reference, we ate these carry out items within 15 minutes.
While the service was prompt and polite, I was not at all impressed with the quality of the food.
The burgers, while decently sized, were dry and devoid of flavor. The buns were soggy. The mushrooms were canned. The Swiss was lacking.
There are much better burgers to be had at the 15 dollar price point.
All of our fries were extremely limp and soggy, not a hint of crisp to be found. (You may wish to package these in a bag or box that allows them to breathe after cooking.)
The grilled cheese was also soggy and unimpressive for the price.
The creamy potato soup was ok but it tasted like canned ingredients instead of fresh soup from a restaurant, and the amount of salt in it really subtracted from the experience.
The food is likely far less soggy when you dine in.
I would not recommend getting takeout items here that are normally served warm.
It felt quite expensive for what i ended up with.
I will update this if i end up stopping in for a...
Read moreFort Scott National Historic Site was what brought us into the town. The historic site and town were very nice, so we figured, while here, we would give this spot a try before we hit the road for a 6 and a half hour drive. We regret the decision and wish we drove a little further down the road to the Sonic or Subway for cheaper food that taste better. The fries were not crispy, they were limp and soggy. My burger was very well done, and I’m more of a medium rare girl. They didn’t ask me how I wanted it cooked though… I am not convinced these are hand pattied burgers as their menu suggests. I firmly believe they were from a box of frozen patties purchased at the Walmart. My daughter was extremely disappointed with her chicken wrap which she usually enjoys when ordering at any other place. My husband tried her wrap and said it was the worst wrap he ever had in his life. He ordered the Philly which was made with brisket, and he wasn’t very fond of that either. Felt like a complete waste of $50. On top of that the service was so slow. We waited long for everything from the menus (which I ended up walking up and grabbing myself from hostess stand), to order, the food itself, and then the bill. If I was a local I could see it being a place I could meet up with friends for a few beers, but that’s about it. It was in a convenient location for us at the time and one of the few things open...
