Frutas Locas — Restaurant in Fort Walton Beach

i normally write good reviews but i don’t recommend coming to this place at night. we ordered 2 arizona’s locas and a corn in a cup, the corn was super good! but the arizona’s were super warm and not chilled at all. i’m not sure if their fridge wasn’t working or if they store the drinks outside but a heads up would’ve been nice. i would not have ordered the drinks if they were going to be warm. the place closes at 9 pm which i was a bit surprised being it was saturday but that’s okay! but we arrived at 8:30 pm so that would be why i don’t recommend this...

I might be a tough critic because Ive had these in New Mexico and they were the best I’ve ever had. With that said, I ordered the mangonada and the mangos were not ripe at all. They were extremely hard and flavorless. I feel with mangos being the center of flavor in a mangonada they should be ripe to give off the fullest flavor and if they aren’t then it shouldn’t be sold. I ordered the Hot Cheeto Esquite and the Pica Fresa. The Hot Cheeto Esquite was barely edible there was so much mayonnaise it felt like they dumped the whole bottle in. It was truly disgusting, just mayonnaise everywhere and it made everything soggy. The corn was canned, not the traditional fresh Mexican corn. For $10, I could’ve easily made this at home. The Pica Fresa had no flavor it was just blended ice with chamoy and Tajín. Overall, a very disappointing experience but I guess that’s what you get in Crestview, not authentic Mexican treats like the ones from Mexico or border cities. Total waste of $20.

Pedí el Esquite con Hot Cheetos y la Pica Fresa. El esquite estaba casi incomible le echaron tanta mayonesa que parecía que vaciaron toda la botella. Fue verdaderamente asqueroso, mayonesa por todos lados. El elote era de lata, no el típico elote mexicano fresco. Por $10, fácilmente lo pude haber hecho en casa.
