The Little Griddle — Restaurant in Fort Walton Beach

If you had asked me a week ago, I would have given this place four stars. However, my partner and I visited today and discovered some concerning information about the owner. The food here is consistently delicious, but the prices have been steadily increasing. I understand that small businesses need to make ends meet, but it feels like their prices have risen every month.

The main issue arose when we were there today. A protest was taking place against project 2025. As I was getting my food, the owner inquired about the protest and I explained that it was against project 2025. His immediate response was to launch into a tirade about “those liberal r*tards” and rant about the economy. I politely ignored his comments and took my seat to eat.

Later, the owners came out and sat at a table behind us, with the man continuing his rant about the protest, liberals, and how foolish he thought they were. While everyone is entitled to their opinions, you probably shouldn’t be spewing your beliefs to customers. You don’t know the full extent of their experiences and perspectives. I’m not engaging in a political debate, but I genuinely believe that it’s important to be mindful of what you say to people. Not that the owner cares, but he lost our business today. Don’t miss this little gem when visiting Ft. Walton/Destin! We found this fantastic breakfast spot while visiting downtown Ft. Walton on vacation. Highlights: huge and filling breakfast bowls (they don’t skimp on the toppings: BACON FOR DAYS, YUM!), excellent sandwiches to take on the go. Warm and friendly staff/owners. You can really tell these guys take pride in their work, love what they do, and love their community (observed lots of locals coming for food as well, a good sign in my opinion). Fun and inviting setup outside for dining if you don’t want to take to go. Bonus, they are right across from a waterfront park so you can enjoy the scenery or take a little walk after your scrumptious meal. I only wish we had something like this back home.
