I'm staying at this hotel right this minute from what I saw in the photos online and looked better than it actually is. I went to the pool it's just disgusting. The bottom of the pool was full of grit and sand for some reason but either way it hasn't been cleaned in a while. I was going for the hot tub and the first thing I noticed how filthy the surface was where you walk and the edge of the pool. Then I noticed tiles coming off the wall all rusty and gritty just laying on the floor and have not been picked up or cleaned by any staff. The second thing I noticed when I was in the hot tub is that I saw something moving under the cover of a handicap chairlift. I pulled it back and what I saw was the filter for the hot tub had old and half eating apples in it and it look like other food items I tried to get some of it out it was just nasty. I immediately got out of the hot tub I went to use the phone in the pool area to call the front desk to inform them and I realized the phone in the pool does not work. This is a very dangerous situation because there's a big sign that says call 911 in case of emergency and you can't call anybody from a phone that doesn't work. So I'm trying to call the front desk there's no ringtone there's no anything. I had to use my cell phone. That is a huge safety red flag somebody gets hurt in the pool and they need an ambulance you can't call . Secondly there is a key card entry to the pool area and that wasn't working any child can wander his way in there alone fall into the pool and drown . Nobody would ever know because there's no cameras in the pool area and there's no phone to call when you find the body in the pool. Another Safety Red flag. I spoke to the lady at the front she came up to the pool area. I told her to look under the cover where the food was and she said "I know". She refused to look under the cover because she already knew that there was nasty rotting food there because she said several weeks ago there were kids playing with food in the hot tub and it got in there. I got angry and I'm like you've known about this for weeks and you haven't cleaned it. I told you you need to have a clean lady come first thing in the morning and clean this whole area . And that rotting food, it's in the filter compartment that means no one's bothered to check the filter. a huge safety red flag. they're not checking that are they checking the pH balance of the pool and adding chlorine and other chemicals to sanitize it. I doubt it and I for sure doubt it now because that night I told that lady the next evening I went to the pool, 24 hours later and the same woman was working and the food was still there. The broken tiles were still there everything was still there nothing had changed I called the front desk again the same woman was working. She insisted she told the cleaning staff to clean it. I told her why don't you go get a bag and a broom and come clean it yourself. I would not let another guess see this disgusting mess. She said well what am I going to do and I said clean it yourself but she refused she told me I should talk to the GM in the morning which I plan to do I'll update my review on...
Read moreI never write reviews however as a weekly business traveler I felt compelled to write this review. After living in hotels on a weekly basis for many years I have come to learn that how nice a hotel is, is unimportant if the staff is not good, especially management. Upon checking in to this hotel I had a few little problems in the room (air not working properly, etc) then I had a major problem. When I pulled down the comforter and sheets a live silverfish ran across the mattress. Besides bedbugs, to me, a live bug in your bed is worst case scenario in a hotel. I freaked out, called the front desk, and the front desk clerk came and changed the sheets, etc and we inspected the room for any other bugs. The front desk apologized profusely and mentioned several times how this was unacceptable and that the manager would be in touch in the morning and compensate me for this couple hour ordeal. Well the next day I waited and waited and received no call. I briefly went to the hotel around 230p and asked for the manager. Unfortunately a professional, customer service oriented manager is not who came out. What came out was Stephanie, an extremely rude, unprofessional, poor excuse for an employee no less a manager. From the moment she walked out she seemed bothered with my request to speak with her. I expressed my unhappiness with the unprofessionalism that I was having to reach out for a manager instead of a manager reaching out to me in the morning as it was promised and should have been regardless. The entire interaction was unprofessional and discourteous. She never apologized for anything even after I pointed out that she hadn't apologized at all. At that point I told her I was contacting Marriott because none of this was ok and she proceeded to tell me they only have the Marriott name and are privately owned and Marriott has no authority over her. The audacity was truly unbelievable. Do not stay there, there are plenty of other options that have a professional staff and understand and perpetuate...
Read moreUpon checking in all seemed well. I was a little worried about the elevator, it seemed like it was struggling a bit. We decided to take the stairs. We were very tired from a volleyball tournament, so we went to bed right away. The next morning, I tried to make myself a coffee but once I filled the basin, I realized that there was dust, dirt and an oily substance inside. Also, hairs around the outside of the machine. I dumped the dirty water out in the sink and along with it came a copper shard! The shower offered only lukewarm water. While brushing my teeth, I felt a wet sensation at my feet. The sink was pouring water out all over the floor from the drain, soaking my only pair of clean socks. I paid over $200 to stay here, because it offered amenities and comfort that the motel down the street did not. I got less quality than many of the other parents on the team who paid $89 to stay at the quality. I brought all of this to the attention of the front desk clerk upon check out, showing pictures and videos. I was told to write all of this down, and left my number with the promise that I would be contacted when the manager was in. I have not been called yet, as promised. I did receive an automated email which impersonally addressed my by my last name only, was pre-written and did not address any of my concerns personally. This property is blemishing the Marriott name, you would be appalled by the images I have saved in my phone. I wish that I could attach them. I am also making our hotel coordinator aware of these conditions. I paid extra to have a hotel which offered a convenient breakfast option, but what was offered was not even appetizing. Not to mention no fresh fruit options or anything of any...
