My original review below still stands. It's great food. But, the last 2 or 3 times I've gone thru the drive thru, my large salads have been real small. I am going to stop in and talk to the manager about it. But, really . . . what's a head of lettuce cost - 98 cents? A few slices of pepper, 5 olives, a few pieces of tomato and cucumber - $7+ and the salad is about half the size it used to be. I took pictures and tomorrow, I'm going to the King Gyro on Goshen Rd. to show the difference. The Goshen restaurant packs a great sized salad. Man! I love this place. When I wasn't concerned about eating super healthy, I loved a lot of items on their menu. The rib tips were amazing, as well as the fish dinner, the burgers, and of course the gyros. But, now that I am much more health conscious, their Greek salad is one of my favorite salads in the city. I often swing through the drive-thru & get one salad then add some more lettuce and other items when I get home and it's part of our dinner. One day at work, a few of us were deciding where to go for lunch. We go out for lunch a couple times a week. My coworkers wanted Powers, so i said I'd swing thru King Gyro, get a salad for myself & meet them. Everyone else then decided they wanted King Gyros. One of the guys got the salad after I said it was top 2 in the city. He LOVED it. The next day, we went again because he wanted the salad again. Two days later, one of the other guys said he couldn't stop thinking about that salad & wanted us to go again. So, we all got the salad. Now we go at least once a week for the salad. LOL. We've added grilled chicken or gyro meat, even brought our own dried cranberries and parmesan. The staff is ALWAYS friendly, professional and on the ball! My mouth is watering as I write this. Guess we're eating King...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment that truly exceeded my expectations. Although I wish I could give it six stars, I must settle for a five-star review. The food was absolutely fresh, and the preparation and presentation were impeccable.
One thing that struck me about this restaurant was the authenticity of its cuisine. It was clear that the owner, Damon, and his crew were passionate about their craft, and they put all of their heart and soul into every dish. From the fish to the slaw, everything was executed with precision and care.
The flavors of the food were exquisite, and each dish was a work of art. The ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality, which made a noticeable difference in the taste. It was evident that the chef had put a lot of thought into each ingredient and how they would work together to create a harmonious flavor profile.
Aside from the food, the service was also top-notch. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. They were attentive without being overbearing, and their warm demeanor made me feel right at home.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. The food is unparalleled in quality and taste, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. It's clear that Damon and his crew are the real deal, and I can't wait to...
Read moreThey're consistently delicious, consistently affordable, and consistently curt. Since no one can ever taste friendliness or get a discount on smiles, who the heck cares that they're not shiny happy people. The menu item that gives King Gyros its royalty is by far the best in the area. In fact, after having gyros all over the country,, and my own family having a Mediterranean food booth at a few summer festivals when I was a kid, I can say these are as good as any I've ever had. Their ribs are super tender. The sauce is not my absolute fave, but the tenderness and taste of the meat make up any that's lost in the sauce. I think the only thing that would improve on the Greek chicken is if it was more moist. I can't get over how good the flavor is, but am often underwhelmed by that dryness. There are a number of other menu items from hot dogs to rib tips and other similar fare, but I haven't tried them yet. The one thing most meals will have no matter what is fries. I am a huge fan of their fries... but they don't hold up once cold. Some companies' fries are still good when cold but not these. Eat them hot and you'll be in French fry heaven. Hell, eat any of the things they make and I can guarantee you will be putting King Gyros on your list of favorite downtown...
