The Sidecar — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

Sidecar has lost its touch it seems. The bar is still tiki themed, but the drink menu really has few true tiki cocktails at this point. It mainly consists of quick fruity drinks like palomas and margarita ripoffs. This used to be the coolest cocktail bar with awesome tiki cocktails - like 3 Dots and a Dash good, but it has gotten watered down. We don't see any of the old bartenders who were really serious about their craft anymore. I ordered a drink the other night, and it had zero finesse. It literally tasted like a melted lime popsicle. It was just terrible. I hope they can tweak and return to their roots because at this point, I don't have the desire to go back and spend that kind of money for what we were offered. Arrived at 10:14 on a Wednesday, hours both online and on-site said open until 11pm. Walked up to the counter only to be told they "decided to close early because they had no customers" even though a couple was literally just leaving. We had a poor experience. Very rude bartender. Friend got rudely yelled at for hitting his vape. Meanwhile other customer in line right in front of her is hitting their vape and another is smoking a cigarette on the patio and nothing was said to them.
