Wow. We found this listed on a 'things to do' web page since we were driving and wanted to find an interesting thing to see and stretch our legs too. We spent about an hour and a half walking around vintage fire trucks and equipment, like old-time fire alarms, dispatch center, clothing, etc. All the displays are well marked and informative. An especially touching memento was a binder where all Ft Wayne personnel who were killed while on duty are memorialized; you can read their stories and understand the sacrifices they made to this community. Would definitely recommend.

We had a few hours to spare on a trip to town and this came up as a place we thought our children might enjoy and were we right! We spent almost 2 hours here and could have spent more time but it was lunch time and our littlest was hungry! The worker was very attentive to us and gave us some extra information since we were the only ones in there at the time. I just can’t rave enough about how friendly and informative he was. My younger child as well as my older children liked all of it. Would highly recommend. We will be back for sure!

A must see and visit treasure in the midst of downtown Fort Wayne. Step through the doors of time to experience the rich heritage of the courageous firefighters who have served the city through the decades. The fire engines on display range from horse drawn hand pumpers through the past century. Parking is available in adjacent library parking lot for a nominal fee, but free for Allen County library patrons. Pickup a commemorative fire fighters T shirt at the front desk.

Surprisingly interesting! The main floor and entrance is where the bulk of the fire engines. Perfect for anyone intersted in the mechinaics of fire suppresion. The host had worked for the FYFD for years and was warm and helpful. She explained a bit about the firehouse; she also had the FD scanner on! Upstairs is a collection of wonderful rooms filled with Ft Wayne history and current issues of fire safety. Perfect place to stay cool for an hour. We bought a FWFD patch and enjoyed our visit! On street or lot parking with a meter. They accept...
