This stadium has an impressive reputation, so I went in with high expectations. I’m very glad it lived up to them. Parking was easy to find and reasonably priced (lower than South Bend, for example) and signs were everywhere to help you find where you needed to go. Seats are comfortable and there’s plenty of it, and the view of the field seemed good from several angles.
Food was more varied than most places. Had chicken tacos, which were with soft flour tortillas and quite customizable. Be careful if getting those simply due to the mess of the extra liquid on a shallow plate. If you can handle that the tacos are tasty, and if not there’s a burrito bowl option. Apple Crisp is decent and comes with ice cream, and props to the Tin Caps for leaning into the apple theme and embracing their own identity as that does make the experience more fun. Saw some interesting other places I didn’t get to try (Intentional Wok is a fantastic name) so this is well above average for stadium food.
It’s a good place to watch baseball, and most of the sponsor things are left for between innings so you get the baseball clean and then the necessary mentions are linked to entertainment elsewhere. Seemed like a good way to do it to me. I’d certainly go back if I lives closer, as this is the best of the 7 minor league stadiums I’ve...
Read moreI visited on Lego "Let's Play" night. The kids all had fun and there were fire works after the game.
The company picnic was happening too. The company picnic menu was great for us adults, the kids sort of nit picked at it. The food line could have probably been laid out better, the utensils where mounted on a post at the plates and the kids completely missed them. The condiments (lettuce, pickle, onion, ect) were back at the front before the entrees. And you had to work your way past the soft drinks to finish building your dogs and burgers and such. The ketchup, mustard and diced onion and relish were near the exit so easy to find, but they where tucked away in a corner that made them difficult to access.
The company picnic made snacks and drinks at the game a nonissue, but the biggest reason we don't go as a whole family more often is the cost of concessions. This place really is great local family fun otherwise and they do a great job of having a really entertaining program for between innings. Game wise it is better than a major league game and it's closer to home.
If you get the chance to go see this park it is worth doing as...
Read moreI have been to many minor league baseball stadiums around the country, but I have to say Parkview Field in Fort Wayne Indiana is the nicest I have ever had the pleasure of visiting!!! While we were there the Indianapolis Colts and their cheerleaders were there signing autographs which was a added bonus! We attended a game on a Thursday evening which turned out to be their "Thirsty Thursday". That meant the draft beers were only $1 and they also had some mixed drink specials. We were also informed that every Monday is " Family Night" meaning hot dogs, small soft drinks and and other items were also only $1! We only had one issue during our visit and that was with their security... The firm being Securitas. They went through our daughters diaper bag and dumped out her sippie cup saying it could be filled with vodka!?! Also denied us entry with a few baby snacks for her! She is just now able to eat some regular food, but nothing they serve at a ballpark! This to me was absolutely mind blowing! So if you are going to take small children prepare to be treated like a convict at a...
