I was really excited to try Burger Bar in Fort Wayne, especially after seeing their mouthwatering photos on the website. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations.
The Burger:
The burger was a major disappointment. The meat was dry and overcooked, lacking any juiciness or flavor. It looked nothing like the advertised photos, which were plump and dripping with deliciousness. To make matters worse, my burger arrived without the burger sauce I had specifically requested.
Customization:
Despite the name "Burger Bar," the customization options are extremely limited. You're basically stuck with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and (optionally) their sauce. No bacon, avocado, grilled onions, or other exciting toppings are available, making the burger feel very basic and uninspired.
Parking:
The lack of street parking is a major inconvenience. Your spot or garage will not be close by unfortunately.
Service:
Nothing exciting here, just a cashier to take your order and them calling your order out when it is done. You self serve yourself if you want water from the dispenser near the utensils.
Saving Grace:
The only redeeming quality of my visit was the delicious chocolate milkshake. It was thick, creamy, and chock-full of chocolatey goodness.
Overall:
My experience at Burger Bar was a major let down. The burger was dry, flavorless, and lacked customization options. The lack of street parking added to the frustration. While the milkshake was a saving grace, it wasn't enough to overcome the overall disappointment.
Recommendation:
If you're looking for a juicy, flavorful burger with plenty of customization options, I would suggest looking elsewhere. There are many other burger joints in Fort Wayne that offer a far...
Read moreSo, when you hear the name, "Burger Bar", I imagine a variety of burgers. Peanut butter, Western Bacon, The Hangover, Breakfast Burger, etc. This is not that Burger Bar. It should be called 2 Burgers.
You have the option of single, double - cheese, no cheese - onion and pickle optional at no charge - bacon for an additional charge.
If you're a local, Coney Island has a better burger. Burger Fi is better. It's a close tie with 5 Guys, but I think they're a smidge better. Bravas is still my go-to local burger joint.
They ran out of fries, so I can't tell you about those. But running out of fries in a Burger joint is like running out of crust at a pizza joint. #fail
This place will likely be successful because it's attached to a hotel with people that don't know better. And it's got a cool concept with outside ordering and seating, but it's definitely not the burger joint for locals!
Side note: the Rooftop Bar is worth...
Read moreI have been there twice. 1st time the atmosphere and food were both good. The food service was not. Ordered a hamburger got a cheese burger. Not a big deal but it's a simple order they messed up. The burger looked like it was made during the busiest dinner rush that the restaurant had ever experienced except it was just me there.
The 2nd time the food was great. The service and atmosphere was lacking. The outside tables were incredibly dirty. Once again we were the only customers there when we walked up, ate, and left. The atmosphere was lacking as well. The music was incredibly loud. We asked if they could turn it down just a little so we could hear ourselves think. He said no we have it loud due to the traffic (which I can understand to an extent) but once again we were the only customers there the entire time. Not a very customer facing in...
