It's getting challenging to keep buying weekly meals from Fit Meals Prep. I've been a customer for a little over a year. The food was great when i first started, but over the past couple months it has not been as great. Here are some of my struggles: it seems like the "chefs" keep changing, the macros aren't always accurate in the binder/website, and the packaging has cause the price to jump significantly. I am all for BPA free products, but I'd rather us bring back our old plastic containers that can be recycled and repurposed. Having to pay this much for "food preservation" (i.e., a 12 day shelf life) packaging isn't a true need because we pay more for a meal, our food clumps together and/or takes the cheese off my meal by the time its done warming up (e.g., #5). I can properly freeze my meals on my own if I want to keep it for more than a week and less than 6 months.
Here are examples of what I mean by the changing chefs: The last three weeks I have ordered either the #15 or #33. The eggs have been overcooked to point where it has that overcooked taste/slightly burnt scaly egg texture and taste. I'm currently eating my breakfast (i.e., #33) and it has this taste. We pay too much for eggs not to be cooked properly. I never had this issue a couple months ago. Also, with the "chefs changing" there have been times when my food is bland (e.g., one week the #5 turkey is seasoned well, another week it's not seasoned well. I hope my #5 is seasoned well this week). It's a luck of the draw and I pray that someone who knows how to cook is cooking my food each week.
The reason why it's also a disappointment is because the the week of thanksgiving, I decided not to order from fit meals prep because I had a few meals that I had not previously eaten in my freezer. These meals were from the pre-food preservation container era. I had an easy time warming up the food and i could say i THOROUGHLY enjoyed each bite because the chef at that time knew how to cook rice for the #13, the gravy wasn't all dried up in the meatballs because the plastic wasn't holding it down (#13), and the brisket and potatoes were flavorful (#41). It was a fond memory of what fitmealsprep used to be....
Honestly, I hate meal prepping, but I think I'd rather Fit Meals Prep offer a meal prepping course and teach me how to make the food to my liking. It's really a disappointment not having a consistent, nice flavor for the meals for the amount of money I pay per week.
I give it a 3 stars because the workers are always very pleasant and patient when I go inside and choose my meals or pick up my meals and the food is still edible although not as great as...
Read moreUnfortunately I have not enjoyed fitmeals prep lately⌠I did some juicing detox here and enjoyed it and had meals on several different occasions. I recently wasted money the juice wasnât good not much flavor and was bitter. I found that odd it was not good at all and the last meals and bread I got was different. Itâs too inconsistent for the price thatâs charged and you canât return. The points system is a joke they make it hard for you to earn points because you only gain one point at a time which is rigged to make you have to spend a ridiculous amount before you ever get anything free. I used to like this place but unfortunately I wonât be back I feel bamboozled and my money down the drain. I donât know what happened but quality isnât the same prices went up and for what you pay isnât worth it. Highly disappointed...
Read moreThe food is okay comparable to most other meal prep businesses. Unfortunately I will not return, I was treated like I was going to steal something. I am sure there were cameras and was it my intent to steal I would have left out with the items I was holding instead of staying looking for more items to buy. Service is 1 star food is 3 stars and that is being generous. I didn't enjoy the packaging which made the food have a funny taste and texture. I would've returned to see if it was just the meals I tried if not for poor service. Please treat future customers better and if you are concerned about thieves, make it less obvious for customers. đ I'm a VP at my company so I don't need to get offered freebies to take this down either....
