I’ve had 2 horrible experiences here at this location. Last spring we came in with friends to celebrate a birthday. We received horrible service from our waiter. He was attentive to his surrounding tables, but hardly came to service us. We waited forever for our food. The night progressively got worse. When we paid for our food, we told the manager our concerns. We expressed how we felt we did not get acceptable service due to us being black, considering the skin color of those that were receiving great service around us . Keep in mind all 6 members of our table were former waiters, waitresses, and bartenders and respect the service industry to the fullest. We also understand the difference of servers being busy vs just purposely ignoring a table. The manager was apologetic and gave us cards for free appetizers on a future visit. Fast forward a year later and I came in with my husband to redeem the appetizers we were gifted. RICARDO ARRIAGA, general manager decided that he would not honor the appetizer cards because the other manager did not “sign” his signature on them. He claimed that he called the other manager to ask him about the cards but could not reach him. After going back and forth with Ricardo telling him about the horrible experience we had the last time and why we got the cards in the first place, the visit ended with once again a horrible experience. I asked Ricardo for his manager’s number. He said he could not give it to me. I will be calling corporate to let them know how this establishment treats their black customers. I know that if our skin color was different, Ricardo would have honored the cards instead of assuming that...
Read moreCelebrated 🥳 a 21st birthday here. She kindly chose this place because it's good and not overly priced. We had so many chips with a good salsa but PEOPLE--- that BLACK BEAN DIP had Crack in it! We all ordered yummy dinners and one an appetizer. The beans 🫘 and 🍚 rice were all different. Meaning I got a rice with veg-all in it ( like whaaat?) and one got blackish rice and then there's the 🫘 beans. I LOVE beans . There were black [yay me], refried pinto, and finally an interesting black bean rice combo?! Portions are big, even my friend who had an app for her dinner. Drinks. Yowza- house Marg could put a spell on you! Please have a back up plan for responsible thinking. Draft beer delicious and cold and not all foam served in a glass! ( had plastic before and really?!?) Server was on it! She was efficient and did a great job. Wish I asked her name. Flan ( pronounced to rhyme with ON) WAS GREAT! It was our bday girls gift from Gloria's. We all tried it. Best I've EVER EATEN! Other flan is pronounced fl annn to rhyme with Ann to distinguish it from THIS masterpiece. I'm not usually a flan man or woman and now I know why. Others I tried were gah- ccaaca. You get your leftovers bagged into a nice handled bag . 😍 The price was great. Gloria's, you...
Read moreI've been to this location three times now. The first two visits were great. This time, not so much. Right from the jump the hostess was a little rude and not friendly. She also seemed perturbed when we said we wanted to sit outside and we chose a table away from the other patrons. She initially tried to sit us right next to a bunch of people when there were at least 10 empty tables spread out across the patio.
The waiter was very nice and attentive and I appreciate that.
This time I tried the brisket quesadillas. They were pretty plain, it seemed like there was no seasoning at all. The food was also mildly warm. I should've just ordered the Poblano chicken again.
The salsa and bean dip are delicious. The drinks were terrible this time though. They barely had any alcohol in them. Not what I'd expect from a $10+ cocktail. My wife and I both had two drinks. Normally that's the right amount. It felt like we barely had one drink. We would have stayed longer, but we left to go have a couple of drinks at another establishment down the street.
I don't know if we'll be visiting this...
