I am posting this review mostly for Blue Mesa's catering services: My wife and I got married on 10/26/2024 at The Graily in Waxahachie, Texas and used Blue Mesa to cater our wedding. We could not have been MORE satisfied with our entire experience with the catering department and the food at our wedding. From the start whenever we looked for quotes for food to feed ~165 people we were met with promptness and professionalism from Lyndsey (the catering service manager)--she told us all of our options and made sure we understood every nook and cranny of the menu. The pricing was transparent and very reasonable for the food which we were provided.
Two months before our wedding we went into the Fort Worth location and had a "tasting" provided to us by the BM staff at the Fort Worth location, we also had extremely great service from one of the managers on duty (Tyler).
Lastly, during our actual reception the Blue Mesa team showed up hours before to ensure our buffet was set up, the appetizers passed, and the food for our event was perfectly cooked to temperature, the staff that catered our event even bussed all of our tables and made sure that everything was handled from set-up to breakdown. Again, if you are hosting a HUGE event or a wedding, or even a small office party--if you are willing to spend a bit more money and are looking for wonderful fajitas or southwest/Tex-Mex type food then look no further than Blue Mesa! My Wife and I are extremely happy we chose Blue Mesa for our big event and we have received countless compliments on the food and the service. The price we paid was reasonable as well. Thank you...
Read moreWe really wanted to like this place, but Blue Mesa was a swing and a miss. We went on a Sunday, for lunch, but was surprised when our server only brought us drinks, and not a menu. We eventually asked if we would be getting a menu and were informed it was brunch. This means that the whole restaurant was set up to serve a brunch buffet, rather than the regular menu. We were not informed about this at the host table. However, our server informed us that they could still serve the regular menu but will be delayed due to the brunch buffet set-up. We probably would have came back on a different day if we knew this beforehand.
The food was... Very underwhelming. The photo attached shows you what you get for 16-17 dollars. Very little sauce, very little protein, and very little seasoning. The beans tasted like.. Gasoline?? It was a very odd taste that I never tasted in beans before. The coconut lime rice was a bit too sweet for my liking, but I can see it appealing to others. The corn cake was pretty enjoyable. I only wish there was more of it. The asking price, for this meal, is egregious.
Our server was the best part of our experience. He was very professional, understood our needs, and kept us updated about the status of our order.
Overall, we don't think we'll be coming back. We felt like we got ripped off, and don't want to take that chance again. There are many different options around this area. Your money will be better spent at those...
Read moreLast week my wife was diagnosed with being allergic to gluten. Needless to say it’s been an interesting few days find out just how much of her favorite foods contained gluten. We wanted to go out for breakfast and came across Blue Mesa. We called ahead to see how long the wait was and to see if they had a gluten free menu. When the hostess gave a strong “Yes” and said we can get right in, we were in our way. We explained our situation to the manager that greeted at the door. She sat us down and took about 15 minutes explaining their menus and what was safe. They have tons of delicious gluten free options!
Unfortunately, my wife unknowingly tried something from one of their cooking stations that was one of the few items they have that contained gluten.
The same manager that sat us came running and apologized and asked if there was anything she can do for my wife. My wife said that she would walk across the parking lot to get some activated charcoal which helps to absorb the gluten.
Without any hesitation the manager asked us what it was and said she would go get some. 10 minutes later she comes running through the back door saying it was a two for one sale.
She made what could have been a very painful meal into one that we will remember for a very long time.
Thank you Terra and Blue Mesa for setting an exceptional standard of...
