This is a clean, somewhat quaint, little restaurant in a strip shopping center. Imagine our surprise when the food turned out to be not only exceptional, but to be one of the best representations of Greek fare that I've had, especially for a very reasonable price. This place is legit, and you know how sometimes you get a mound of food only to find that it is a bunch of lettuce or some sort of filler? Not here. My gyro was packed with very tasty meat, that great cucumber based cool to the taste sauce, and a pita that was just fantastic. The greek salad with it was outstanding with fresh vegetables, and my wife had French Fries that were generously cut and done to perfection. I don't live necessarily close, but I will drive back to eat again, gladly. The people that served us were friendly and gracious and enjoyed our company as we enjoyed theirs.
Oh, and after we went to a furniture store in the area and I happened to mention to a sales person that we had just had a fantastic lunch of some genuine Greek food. Her response? "Oh, was it the Greek Cafe?! I've been craving that so I'm going soon to get my fill!" There ya have it. Semi renowned by the locals and freshly discovered by...
Read moreThis place is very quaint. Has all of the items you would expect to find at a Mediterranean/Greek restaurant. The owners are quiet, but the woman that primarily works the front is extremely thoughtful and kind. You might not get that vibe at first, but having been several times she is strictly business. Your comfort, happiness with your order and service level are top priority. I typically get the Greek Salad with chicken or gyro. The salad is massive. I can usually take it home and have it for lunch the next day. The meat is good. The thing that I love most about this place is that the salads are primarily romaine lettuce (I know least nutritious, but sometimes spring mix reminds me of garden weeds). What sets this place apart from others is how fresh the vegetables on the salad are. I don't particularly like cucumbers, olives, or tomatoes but these vegetables are so fresh and so crisp that I find myself craving them from time to time. They also have cheesesteaks, which my son loves, and if you aren't worried about fried foods, the...
Read moreI love Greek food! I come from an area with a large Greek community in Tarpon Springs, FL. I grew up with delicious authentic Greek cuisine all around. The restaurant is clean, I loved the music, but my greek salad although HUGE was lacking in flavor. The dressing was bland, the feta cheese and kalamata olives used sparingly. It was served with Tzasiki sauce which is normally very garlicky with a big presence of cucumber - this was again extremely bland, like a cup of plain greek yogurt. The chicken (which is an additional $5.99) is normally marinated in lemon juice, a lot of garlic, oregano, salt and pepper - basically tasted like grilled chicken minus the flavors. My friend had a Gyro and loved her lunch. I was just disappointed we had driven 45 minutes from north of Decatur and it was not what I was anticipating, at all. We both left very full and I took half my salad home. There is another authentic greek restaurant in Keller I will drive the 10 more minutes to get to next time. It is well worth it Mediteranean Grill in old...
