As of December 18, 2022: Do not go here if you have a food allergy. They change their menu without alerting customers and won’t confirm ingredients once they do finally tell you about the change.
This is the first time I’ve had to leave a poor review after truly loving the place. The fried rice has always been great. I had just ordered yesterday for pick up. I ordered Vegetable Fried Rice and the vegetable egg rolls. The online ordering system says the vegetable egg rolls are not handmade and come 5 to an order (6 on Tuesdays.) I received 4. So when I came in today I questioned about it. They said “sorry that’s old information. The egg rolls are made in house now.” Which, apparently only changed since November 26, 2022. They look and taste exactly the same as they did that day.
I have a food allergy, which is why I know so much about this. I spent time talking with the young man that has worked there for a long time and he was so kind in verifying all the foods I wanted to order were free of my allergen.
This time the staff was much less knowledgeable. The back of house staff was cursing about the questions and also called us “Dumb C*nts.” The tv in the restaurant was showing a mukbang broadcast complete with slurping sounds. I do understand some people enjoy watching these broadcasts but it’s not something everyone enjoys. Being told to just “not look at the tv” while still being able to hear the slurping was useless advice.
I won’t be going back, which honestly breaks my heart, because like I said, this is the first time I’ve had a bad experience. But I can’t support a restaurant that doesn’t know their menu and verbally abuses customers. Yes, it’s Christmas season, as they said. Calling people “c*nts” isn’t very Christmasy.
In reply to the abysmal, unprofessional response:
The lady in the back of house absolutely did call us that. And your (I guess now former) employee even confirmed that she knew we could hear her.
I wrote a stellar 5 star review on TripAdvisor literally the day before this interaction. I have since deleted it because of your response.
I didn’t have attitude when I came in the door. I ordered my food and then caught attitude when your employee called me a liar about the egg rolls being shipped in. I told him I had confirmed on Nov 26 that the egg rolls were not made in house because of a food allergy. And he never came back and confirmed they had changed. Once I finally DID get a response from him, he told me the egg rolls were made in house. So he lied to me, based on your website and your own response.
Also, you have MULTIPLE reviews about the back of house talking bad about customers where customers can hear, so calling me a liar looks like a desperate attempt to save face.
You are very good at leaving really terrible responses. I assume this isn’t “Julie, owner” since she signs her responses and had a much more professional response each time. Your employees were fine until I asked a question and showed the website. Then that young man argued with me and still gave me wrong information. Giving wrong information after someone says they have an allergy can kill a person.
Mukbang is very niche and throwing out statistics that are impossible to prove is silly. I have eaten in your restaurant multiple times and it was never on the screen. Had it been, I might have avoided this whole interaction because I would have not been back much sooner.
Mukbang is also documented to be dangerous and people have died participating in it....
Read moreMy recent visit to KEEKS Eggrolls & Wings left me utterly disappointed and underwhelmed. From start to finish, it was a culinary letdown that fell short of my expectations. Despite the restaurant's promising name, the overall experience was far from satisfactory.
First and foremost, the service was lackluster. The staff appeared disinterested and inattentive, paying little attention to the needs of the customers. It took an excessive amount of time for our orders to be taken, and even longer for the food to arrive at our table. The lack of professionalism and basic customer service skills left a sour taste in my mouth.
Moving on to the food itself, the eggrolls were a major letdown. Rather than the crispy and flavorful rolls I had hoped for, what I received were greasy and poorly seasoned eggrolls. The fillings lacked any distinctive taste and seemed hastily thrown together. It was evident that little effort was put into creating a memorable dining experience. The overall quality of the eggrolls was subpar and failed to live up to the restaurant's advertised standards.
The wings were another disappointment. Far from being succulent and delicious, they were dry and overcooked. The sauces lacked any depth of flavor, tasting more like generic store-bought condiments rather than homemade creations. It was evident that attention to detail was severely lacking in the kitchen.
To add insult to injury, the prices at KEEKS Eggrolls & Wings were exorbitant for the quality of food and service provided. I felt as though I was paying a premium for subpar dishes that could easily be surpassed by other establishments in the area.
Overall, my experience at KEEKS Eggrolls & Wings was a regrettable one. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a satisfying dining experience. From the lackluster service to the disappointing food quality, KEEKS fell short in every aspect, leaving me with a lingering sense of...
Read moreI really tried to rate them objectively. This was the first and last time I will eat at this establishment. The first thing I wasn’t thrilled about was being notified upon receipt that my order should be ready in 20 minutes, when it was actually done in 50 minutes. Not sure how difficult it is to change their technology to say to expect food to be done in the general 45 minute timeframe that most restaurants give. They have a sign inside that says “we are not a fast food restaurant, we make everything after it is ordered. Please be patient” so I imagine it generally doesn’t take 20 minutes. In addition, I got home and my son saw that he had barely any chicken in his hibachi bowl. So I called the facility and asked if it would be possible to get a side of chicken (my son had 4 small pieces in his bowl- other than that it was just a ton of plain rice). The girl put me on hold and when the woman who made his bowl got on the phone her exact words were “I’m extremely offended that you are trying to say I didn’t give you enough chicken when I put 10ounces of chicken in that order.” She said “I remember that bowl because you requested nothing extra in the rice (my son didn’t want veggies) and no one wanted to even make that bowl because we were like uhh what do they want??” Yeah she actually said that. Like not including onions, carrots, eggs, or adding butter and oil was so taxing for her. Anyways, she said “I will NOT give you extra chicken. If you drive up here, you can get a refund but I’m not giving you extra chicken.” She tried to go on to say “I don’t have time to talk about this, I have food to make.” I simply said that worked fine- drove up there and got a refund for his food. Also, they didn’t provide sauce with my eggrolls. I don’t care about the sauce, but if you do- make sure the sauce is in the bag before you leave. This happened at the heritage trace location just so we...
